Model Casting F/W 14.15

^ Couldn't agree more, LOVED that cast. Absolutely 100% seamless. Missed Zuzanna and Maria who walked last season but other than that it was absolutely fantastic. Diversity was on point as well.

Yeah Narciso was awesome, nice to see that Ashley still has diversity on her mind.

Ashley cast Narciso? Wow I didn't know she cast for him. And I agree about Zuzanna and Maria their presence is unbeatable.

Yeah she's having a disapointing run so far. Ford messed up when they let her walk as underage, this should had been her very first season. Let's see how Europe will welcome her.

Ondria walked as an underage girl the same season and it seems not to have harmed her career at all. I don't know what the issue is with Thairine. Maybe her look just isn't in this season. Seems like she's having the same problem as Marikka Juhrer--pretty just isn't doing it this season.

Things didn't turn out well for Valerija Sestic after her underage first season. It would have been great to see Thairine booking all the top shows since there's been so much buzz about her. Maybe the platinum would have helped, but I like the red.

Ondria had the support of stylists, photographers, editors etc. I don't think Thairine had the same kind of backing, although I'm not sure since I haven't been following her career since she debuted.

I think with Marikka it has more to do with her proportions.

Personally, I think Thairine may have modeled too much in Brazil. While she's not been in the NYC market much, she isn't entirely unknown among the fashion crowd here. She seems to be all over Brazilian fashion mags and campaigns and in the digital age, her face isn't as fresh as it could be to designers as a result. At the same time, she's obviously not a tried and true fashion veteran, she's someone in between. Not new enough to be interesting for fashionistas, but not a known commodity that the fashionistas will go back to again and again.
Had she stayed in school and just done the occasional gig in Brazil, I think she would have stood a better chance of blowing up in NYC now that she's of age.
But of course she's still very young and if Next manages her correctly and she decides to make an honest go of it in NYC, she could still make it big here.

Went to the Oscar de la Renta show tonight. Most impressed with the beauty of Karlie, Jac, Jourdan, Maria Borges . Just stunning. Met Oscar and Jac. Most of the other girls left quickly. Diana Modovan lovely, Kate B not as striking in person. Will post video in height threads showing finale. So many girls are short. Nicole Pollard, Karlie and Maria so strikingly tall. Got to see Barbara Walters, Bill Cunningham and Grace Coddington. Thrill.

I hope this doesn't happen to Juliane Gruner and her MA hasn't even placed her yet.

Well she got V cover with Carine and VI cover & Anna Sui campaign with Meisel. But as woemwoem she kinda hid here in Brazil so that made her lose steam with the international clients. I'm waiting to see how she does in Europe since it will be her first time and the post-fw editorial/campaign landscape (where she truly shines). Ans yes, the blonde hair was way better than the red.

What happened with Badgley Mischka? It was filled completely with unknowns and third and fourth tier girls. Was there another big show going on simultaneously that sucked away all the top girls?

I see. Was she ever an exclusive?

I don't get the comparison to Marikka though.

All of Thairine's work with Meisel was in 2012. She's sorta been off the radar ever since then, but her print work at home is always exquisite. We will have to wait for Europe before we declare this season a bust.

Who casts/styles Diesel?
They had a powerful cast with some of the Wang exclusives.

To many if you ask me. Why would they copy wangs casting? Is it Anita casting it? It seems odd similar dark clothing and then the same casting. But maybe that's good to be the same as wang for diesel.

Is this the first time Karmen didn't open the Michael Kors show? I'm actually shocked she didn't  The cast is made of established veterans & hot newcomers. Can't wait for Anna Sui & Proenza Schouler (esp their exclusives)!

Thank goodness Karmen and Simon didn't open Michael Kors! It's always a pleasure to see the late 90s/early 00s models.

Pretty solid cast at Kors. There were a couple weak links, but overall pretty good cast.

Anyone know who is casting Hugo Boss? I'm pretty sure Tom van Dorpe is styling.
