Model Casting S/S 15

YES! That was by far my number one moment. I would love her to star in his next campaign.

He could use an American muse, I'm bored of the C(K)armens. I'd also like to see his campaign shot by Claiborne Swanson Frank who he works with a lot.

Given that the theme of Marc's collection was uniformity I felt the casting worked well. Working with the idea of uniforms and military and then taking a cast full of varied women and making them merge into one was really interesting. The idea that with clothing and hair tweaks Adriana Lima and Edie Campbell can represent the exact same archetype is powerful. The Grace Slick meets Jamie Bochert hair obscured everyone's features just enough that the girls really became an army of Marc girls with the militaristic look of the clothing it all really worked for me. I think it served the collection's purpose and for me that is what a casting ought to do.

What I found really odd was that MJ was trying to make a statement by using no make up, yet they put on wigs that cover up most of the eyes. What's the point of the statement then...

So many of these new girls need to work on their walks! Even Maartje who is everywhere sometimes just looks like she's trudging along, as though she was just walking through the mall or something.

Does anyone else think that there were younger girls on the runways in NYFW this year as compared to last year? Nothing new of course, but last year it seemed like they were casting mostly over-18's, I remember reading some figures from casting directors about the ages of the girls. Has it swung back to 16 year olds so quickly?

I was wondering about it too :blink::blink:

Right? I don't think Julia Bergshoeff's eighteen yet for instance.

Looking back on NYFW, these girls performed quite poorly despite what everyone thought.

Alisa Ahman
Helena Severin
Kasia Jujeczka
Ysaunny Brito
Larissa Marchiori
Sophie Touchet

Second season's like these are killing for your career. We'll see how they will do in Europe.

Sophie's having a tougher time but yeah I think her bookings will be better in Europe, unless casting directors are over her--seems unlikely because she's pretty unique. I think she's growing into her look well this season.

Who's the girl that just opened Matthew Williamson. She looks familiar.

Karolin Wolter did the Reed Krakoff Lookbook in NY and justed walked Paul Smith.
I'm so excited, I want a real comeback for her! I hope she'll do Milan and Paris, too!

Marie Piovesan showed up at Paul Smith... Feels like I haven't seen her anywhere in ages, and just a couple of seasons ago she was first face nr 1... Really cruel business now a days.

^ yeah, and talking about cruelty:
According to her thread, Marine Deleeuw went to precastings in Milan, but the feedback was so bad that her agency decided not to send her to Milan at all.

^I can't believe it! Marine walked the most shows out of anyone a couple seasons ago. Crazy.

So nice seeing Erika Wall, Audrey Marnay, Anne-Catherine Lacroix and Kirsten Owen at Mary Katrantzou.
