Model Casting S/S 15

This stuff about Marine is terrible. Whatever, she'll probably have a better time not buying into the increasingly ridiculous standards for being "runway ready".

So nice seeing Erika Wall, Audrey Marnay, Anne-Catherine Lacroix and Kirsten Owen at Mary Katrantzou.

Especially Audrey, can't even remember the last time she walked a show.

Linn Arvidsson bookings confuse me, but I love seeing her such a unique look.

I think Marine looks her worst at the moment :o not to be mean, not that it's not cruel, because I was really into her during her first season. I don't know why she didn't get positive feedback, it may have nothing to do with this, but I don't think she looks good right now.

I've also noticed Marie Piovesan, she just popped out of nowhere at Paul Smith! So tired of all of these new faces we have to deal with every season, all of these girls who were doing good just a couple of seasons ago and are, right after their first or second seasons doing C-list shows or have completely disappeared. We can barely get used to a model that the season after she's out of sight.

of sight.

Look back a year ago, S/S 2014, Marines most successful season... I honestly think she looks much better nowadays

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see what's so different about Marine...is it that thing that we're not allowed to discuss? Because I don't think there's THAT much of a difference--at least not enough to have castings go terribly.

But if you look at the girls who are booking all the shows this season, they're all very plain and unremarkable facially. It's not a great time for girls with more recognizable/striking features.

You forget how whimsical and fast-paced fashion is. You're right about plain girls being in. The lush, romantic French look is out. Notice how poorly Manon L did as well.

I never really followed Marine's career but she is such a striking beauty it's hard not to notice her absence... This is crazy how cruelly the industry can treat the models. As for this season's newcomers, I can't match a single name mentioned here to a face. It's sad that being a "Top Newcomer" nowadays doesn't mean that a model will stay on top for more than two seasons. Look at top newcomers from 2004- Natasha, Raquel, Gemma, Anna J, and top newcomers from S/S 2011 and F/W 2011. Almost none of the 2011 girls are still doing fashion weeks.

Also, I was very shocked to see how poorly Franzi Muellers bookings were. She booked three minor shows in New York. I know her features are specific and she never was a top newcomer, but she did consistently okay the last couple of seasons.

Sam Gradoville walked Ralph Lauren, Reem Acra and Cushnie and Ochs in NY. After closing Gucci last season, I thought she'd walk a full season and be all over the place. Maybe she was being selective, but Reem Acra and Cushnie and Ochs seem like a weird choice for being selective.

Let's not forget Kel Markey... She was one of the top walkers a few seasons back and then she completely vanished into thin air... It's hard to come by girls that last more than 2-3 seasons these days.

There are a lot models that are not doing well like they used to.

Irina Kravchenko
Larissa Hoffman
Mila Mihaljcic

She has been walking a lot, but she is missing a lot of the major shows that she used to book.

Yumi is also have a bit of a renaissance. Her look has matured a lot and she looks amazing.

Larissa Hofmann had her breakthrough season last season, after being in the business for a little while already. It's not that she 'used to book' all these major shows, she booked them last season and maybe the season before a few.
But I agree that I expected her to be performing better.
