Honestly I'm so bummed out that Kendall is walking again. While I have mixed feelings towards Gigi/Bella, I can stand them usually. Sometimes, I'm even impressed. But Kendall is so inadequate on the runway. Idk at this point, she feels very 2015.

I agree. None of the new Prada girls rlly caught my attention or made me wonder ''who is she?''. A bunch of cute non-especial girls, that's all.
Anok should have opened the show again. Her and Kris are 2 of the best thing whose ever come out off Prada.
Also, don't get the love for the girl who closed the show.

On a more positive note ... it is SO good seeing Rianne at all of these different shows in Milan. She is slaying all of them. And Imaan at Moschino was amazing! I hope this means we see her at Versace again this year

Basically this is the root of my problem, especially when it's done too much. You aren't alone.

Pretty disappointed with that as well, but then again I thought she has connections so even after that thing she could just call them on speed dial.

Can't believe how amazing looks Rianne in every-single-show. She's always a star for me, really outstanding .
Prada casting was boring, surprised to see Ondria walking the show, tho. Anyway, I predict Versace's gonna be boring as well, with all this clan/family thing in their last campaign, I'm pretty sure there will be only young and boring faces. I rather not have high expectations. Hopefully I'm wrong, Only praying to see Imaan doing the show again.
Also! I'm pretty tired of Kendall as well, she looks SO out of the place. Go back to your Tv show, girl.

I have to agree with everyone about Kendall. I feel like the Hadids do take the job more seriously. Miss Jenner seems like she only wants to do it to boost her popularity and because she can. Bella and Gigi never really miss shows, and are genuinely happy and thankful they are being booked.

The dynamics of the fashion game especially on the runway has changed so much ...when i started 10 yrs ago ..you had to be able to walk that was the 1st thing (a lot of these girls can't) & the ones that can (for the most part ) never last because of the lust for cheaper newer faces..So the artistry & passion is gone...with Instagram (nepo models ) ,the lack of diversity in casting directors ,the poiltricks, the constant turnover of models..the amount some of the established girls are paid is much less than 10 yrs ago so a lot of girls who have walked over 200 shows are very selective nowadays ..most of the others have just faded ..if u survive 2 yrs of walking 20 plus big shows a season u are doing very very well in today's climate lol ..i feel even now for a model to walk more than 200 shows in a career is a massive achievement..i doubt even 2% of the top new girls will ever do that ..fashion has changed so much ..the runway is now a afterthought for the most part .. Milan used to be the city that made runway superstars ...it's not the same anymore ...such a shame...but the world has changed so it is what it is ...

^ I concur. Let's not also forget that the past 10 years there has been a monsoon in new scouts, agencies and new faces. Add to that all the social media channels in which 'new (read cheap) faces' are easily discovered around the clock. I mean It's Prada-day and its so quiet in here, oh how things have changed indeed.

I wanted to ask the question but didn’t, so thank you to theripper who asked about the reduction in the number of shows top models are walking and thank you also to those offering their insight into why the model turnover rate has increased so much. It may have started earlier, but I began to notice the shortening of runway careers about 10 years ago around the time Karlie Kloss, and the girls of her generation, started. Back then it felt like many models would have 3 good seasons on the runway and then they would begin to slowly fade. Now it feels like many of the models that make an impact get 1 or 2 good seasons and then they don’t just fade, they are completely off the runway. I think the speed of turnover makes many Fashion Spot members less likely to engage with this thread and also other threads. It used to be by the end of every fashion show day each top model’s thread would be updated with their runway photos by their “fans” who would put a lot of effort into keeping their favourite model’s thread up to date. Today we had Fendi, Max Mara and Prada, yet many of the threads for the models from those shows remain untouched. Every new model who walked Prada who didn’t already have a TFS thread, used to be guaranteed to have one by the end of Thursday, but that also doesn’t happen anymore. To be fair Instagram also contributes to this lack of engagement as you can simply go there and see what photos a model is tagged in if you want a career retrospective. But I am sad to read Scouting Snapper’s comment that the runway is becoming an afterthought, for the most part. The reality is that there is not a lot of editorial or advertising work, so the show season was the best opportunity to get lots of images of your favourite models. Any time I think there is a promising new model, I have learned to not get too attached as it is likely she will have a very short runway career and possibly little or no other work. But Scouting Snapper also spoke the truth and “it is what it is” and in the 2018 fashion business climate, Kendall Jenner’s comment about good models walking 30 shows is basically true. But like many, I still check back each show season hoping that there will be a breakout star that will stick around and dominate the runways like the old days and this season is not done yet!

^ I really wish the same but the industry has this funny habit to promote these new models less unless they have big IG follows and celebrity last names or something. The moment the industry and the media celebrated Kaia for the last year's season while Birgit Kos, among others, did the same one season before left me a sour note that has lasted until now.

I just hate the fact that the industry won't hype a breakout star unless they have the mentioned statuses, really different than years ago where things were by means of a total talent.

Emily Rata at Versace? Oh god no. She can seat front row at the show, but she shouldn't walk.
I honestly never get the Versace casting. Most of the times there are models who are so distant to what Versace is: Sara Grace for example, with her cute and fairy look is not Versace at all. I'm only excited to see Imaan and Natasha.
