am I missing something? :innocent: there is no lucky-bashing  at here...

laika, I put the  guy there 'cause you made me crack up laughing. what I meant was "what comes around goes around" with friends. :flower: hey, living in the city you girls get the best stuff and bring home the bird in hand, that's the best part...I just mop up what's left.

softgrey - I just saw your outfit in the ankle boots + skirt thread, you look really amazing! You definitely captured the slouchy cool vibe, and the short skirt doesn't look one bit tart-y  How else are you planning on wearing your Zara boots? Are skinny pants/jeans an option? I'm thinking about getting something similar but don't really know how to wear them.

tourist...

why would you get any other booties if you already have the perfect dries ones?...

^ I really like the Isabel Marant ones, they seem different no? Too similar? I thought the Dries seems dressier and the IM ones more casual ... but maybe there's no need for both. In any case, I cannot get the IM ones until spring, so I have several months to think about it!

they are totally different, dries is fitted on the ankle and the marant with it's more open shaft is much more casual...but this justification might only make sense to a shoe collector...B)

by spring there might be a whole bunch of new stuff to get...^_^...

i know what the differences are...
but i just think that the dries can go both ways...
dressed up or down..
which is why they are so so super awesome...

the IM's are pretty much just casual...

personally---if i had the dries, i would wear them all the time and with absolutely everything...^_^..

if i only had the IM's...THEN i would still have to get another...

but if it's just that you WANT them...well...
there's no rationale for that...that's an emotional choice...
and that's different opf course..
i am just always a very practical shopper- even if i buy a lot- i think about it carefully...
whenever i don't, i wind up regretting it...
and i hate that!

but as you said yourself...tourist...
the IM's are more limited in terms of what works with them...
i think skirts and minidresses and maybe shorts for spring...

maybe you could tuck some skinnies into them with some legwarmers or bunchy socks?

or cropped pants maybe?...

this makes complete sense....:flower:

luckyme - I am a bit of a shoe collector myself, so this justification makes total sense to me! I think waiting till Spring will help clear my head and let me know if I truly love them or not. Chances are, I will have moved on, but if not, they're mine!

thanks for breaking it down like that, softgrey .... I think sometimes, when I find out that something I'm interested becomes sold out, I suddenly want it more .... shopping hysteria! It was nice when before, you were limited only to what you saw in the stores and didn't know about and want what was out of reach. I'll keep the socks and legwarmers idea in mind though, I think that's what needed with pants or jeans. I was thinking they would look weird alone ...

^^yeah- well...take it from skinny ankle girl...
bunchy socks can work wonders...^_^...

could you imagine me in the IM's......
like wearing boats on my feet!......
even the model in the pic sort of looks like that...

i got a bit fed up in london and tried on some flat ankle booties (VERY peter pan)
just because they were EVERYWHERE and i thought they looked really cute and comfy as well...

but i looked RIDICULOUS......
even the salesgirl was like....yeah- no- not good...

*the only thing about the bunchy ankle thing is...
well...it gives you bunchy ankles...:ermm:...
which makes your legs look shorter...and erego... thicker...
...
-this is why i tend to do it only with SUPER short minis..
so there is still plenty of leg...
enough to compensate for the ankle bunch

...:D

Purchase update:
Got some Lanvin all black hi-tops. Not sure if I'll purchase additional clothes in 2007, nothing on the horizon for now. I'll see if I can find the 2-3 things on my list I haven't found yet.

Love them, Fuuma! Of course, we would prefer to see them on you...:P

Sheesh, that picture with the coat is absolutely amazing.

haha...i was with someone who bought that coat...
and i was making fun saying it looked like a girls coat...:ninja:...

...

but i adore the hi tops...
excellent choice fuuma...

though i usually prefer a low sneaker...these almost have the feeling of a cross between a converse and a wrestling boot...
good combo!...
plus i love the mixed textures...

Should a girl who says she likes men in skirts be saying that?

i DO love a man in a skirt..i admit that...

but in a MAN's skirt...not a woman's skirt...
not all things are androgynous....
some things are decidedly leaning one way or the other...
and i def think this leans femme...
doesn't turn me on...

^_^...
