Personal must-haves for F/W 07.08

aris..i really like both pants...
i want to get some louche trousers as well...
i love a pant that flops around your feet when you stride along...
the movement is very sexy somehow imo...

i used to have an amazing pair from jcrew actually ta-ta
wore them to death...i am sure that the fit is different now than it used to be...but i would say it's a good idea to check there...classic is what those guys do best!...especially if you have curves..

I too am in the mood for wide-leg pants with heels ...

thanks for letting me know, soft ... I'll go try some on & see. Do have a few curves, wouldn't know what to do if I didn't  Got my catalog the other day & there seemed to be a few options. They seem to be fond of the low slung thing, and I would kind of like to do the high waist now that it's back ... will see what I can find for not too $$$. I like the ones aris posted but I have a feeling they are not in my new budget ...

OMG laika!!!:bounce:...
how freaking awesome is that?!?!?....
LOVE it!!
and i do have a yohji coat like that actually!
thank you so much...totally inspiring..
:woot:..

ta-ta-
i know what you mean about the low waist thing...
the pants i had were from the late 90's and they were higher waisted...
i def prefer that myself as well...
let's keep an eye out and let each other know if we find anything else like that...:flower:..

i was actually thinking of something a bit sexier maybe...

tse -cashmere looks
gucci for the make up
lanvin accessory-
*i am really into pins/brooches if you guys hadn't noticed....

:innocent:

laika, your picture inspires me to get a red skirt like that. when I first saw that posted I loved the whole thing.

the comment about Dita, made me chuckle, I get the impression softgrey and dita are on opposite ends of the fashion spectrum. although maybe with a new red lipstick....

I'm feeling like most of you, a huge urge for knits. although, I have always loved sweaters, big chunky boxy ones. this year, I'm adding some thinner cashmere sweaters into the mix so I can wear lots of jackets. Jackets are a big must this season, dark colors like navy, charcoal and of course black. wools that are felted and boiled with texture.

my tendency is still towards a narrow pant or skinny black jean though, so the volume on top and narrow on the bottom will carry over from past seasons. I did order a high-waisted black denim wide leg jean, from superfine, which always fit me so well.

footwear-wise, lots of boots, per usual. ann d, yohji combat, jil sander and past season chloe ones. prada shoes to wear with socks and tights. lots of tights to wear with wool skirts. this year I found my perfect skirt in Prada (I must be over 40 ). its black, above the knee and has inverted pleats, I can't wait to wear it with charcoal ribbed tights.

handbags; I am all over the sac designs. I have a black sac Dries bag I am going to dig out and use. I like the patent idea alot and have never carried a patent bag so this might be the season to do so. also I am really into leather backpacks lately.

dresses with cardigans and pull-over sweaters for layering. I finally found the marc jacobs swing dress I have been on the hunt for and love the fact it has a subtle leopard pattern to it. so most of my dresses aren't form fitting but very swingy and full.

Will do ... I do have some silk ones from Ann Taylor that have no waistband like I like, and sit at the natural waist (what a concept ^_^).

Yes, Dita made me chuckle too (though I don't find her plastic--certainly very "done"). Both good looks tho

luckyme, I have found myself really liking the Prada patent bags that match your shoes :ninja:

PS soft, loooove that Lanvin brooch--just gorgeous :crush:

aris I love those Fendi pants!!! I'm kinda half ready for f/w as I recently stocked up on jeans, fine knit sweaters, a couple of pairs of flats and a couple of jackets. This was the easy half, and now I am down to the peices I find hard to buy:
- Just above the knee coat, to wear with skirts/dresses - maybe a trench if I can find one I like. Still not decided on colour, I was considering black, but am also thinking about browny colours
- Chunky knit sweater dress, haven't seen one yet but most high street stores are still in summer mode
- Two large bags (for school), still haven't seen any I like that are big and strong enough
- Flat ankle boots
- High waisted trousers, again not seen any I like on the high street
- Tulip or pencil skirt, not yet decided which (a maybe)
- A grey jacket (maybe)
And I also need some basics like ribbed tights and gloves.

I could name off a whole slew of items I'd like to have, but chances are I won't get the chance to purchase them. That's the price you pay for following fashion shows and trends, I suppose!

The following is a list of pieces I am trying to find for fall:
- Plenty of dresses (I already have five from Target alone)
- A pair of pumps with a wood heel (like Yves Saint Laurent's latest shoes, only cheaper)
- Nice pair of black trousers
- A large bag for school. I don't really know where to start on this one as I'm both picky and unknowledgeable when it comes to bags.

I guess I'm rather simplistic with clothing. I just like purchasing basic pieces and styling them in a variety of ways.

I think my look won't change that much from last season's, at least that's what I think right now as I'm yet to buy september issues or feel remotely cold to get some inspiration:doh:....
  • a black or grey anorak.
  • a black wool mini skirt.
  • a black pleated skirt.
  • 2 very long cardigans in black and navy blue.
  • a men's shirt in navy blue.
  • a black sheer and loose blouse to wear over a turtle neck top.
  • 2 oversized black sweaters (a chunky one and a thin one with V neck).
  • 2 pairs of jazz shoes. red and kakhi (or mustard).
  • some more pairs of opaque tights in black, red, kakhi and mustard.
  • a nice, slightly short velvet dress in dark blue or purple.
  • and I think I'll eventually fall publicly for studs.
  • I want a satin ribbon for my hair too. black or light purple. (a beret in light purple would be nice too -_- )

Cool thread!

I would love a Pringle cashmere jumper and I have my eye on a high waisted black skirt with braces that will look fab with opaque tights and patent platforms.

For all I'm concerned I want to buy nothing but gray.
#1 is a nice gray trench and some gray boots.

-Black slim fitting trousers
-metallic high top sneakers
-gray, black and navy cardigans
-multiple striped button ups for layering
-rain jacket
-long knit sweater
-black combat, laced up boots

more that i cannot think of at the moment...

at the moment I know I have to buy the following:
black high-waisted trousers
dark grey coat up to the knees with a high collar
maybe a white shirt, but I can never find one that I like
black cashmere sweater
a new pair of black leather pumps
light grey dress up to the kness, no decolette and sleeves

oversized black sweater (to wear slouching off one shoulder)
blue flat-knit cardi vest
thick, scrunchy cardigan in a neutral color like oatmeal
ankle boots or oxfords for wearing in the rain
a few layering tees to replace my old ones

that's all for now.

this bag makes my mouth water...
