Personal must-haves for F/W 07.08

A few things: I'm going to college as a freshman so I see a need to mature my wardobe

Riding boots in black
brown chelsea boots
light cashmere knits
chunky knits
something fur; maybe trimmed gloves or muffs
coats; peacoats, trench, and raincoats
trousers; in grey and pinstriped
suits;charcoal and grey so I can break them down
gloves; some colored ones and black textured
rugged outdoor boots

Oh I forgot the greatest thing about this season is that you can get alot from a vintage or thrift store

Hi!

I´ve already bought for fall/winter;

1 black leather jacket,
1 black blazer,
1 black light weight wool sweater with long sleeves,
1 dark blue wide leg trouser-jeans,
1 black wrap dress,
1 black and white wrap dress.

And I still "need";
1 black suit,
1 black wide leg trousers,
1 black skinny 7/8 trousers,
1 black sweater with large v-neck,
maybe 1 charcoal coat and some boots...

-Jutta-

I want a dress like this /browns/ but with long sleeves.

a pair of black boots (preferably flat and slightly pointed)
a (black) jacket for not so cold days
a black turtle-neck pullover
some chunky knits
and some lighter ones
black leather gloves
a pashmina scarf in either purple or black

ha ha ha - so funny ms grey. I had already targeted that one!!! LOL

for me....

*balenciaga johdpurs
*thick fur collar
*black margiela long boots
*black margiela shoe boots (below)
*black polo neck
*this coat

that's so funny- why am i not surprised we like the same bag?..
...

LOVE the booties...:woot:
and the coat is really yummy---can def see you in it...^_^

i understand your desire for the fur collar now...
i looked at the balenciaga collection again...
;)

^^^yeh....am i so transparent?:(

I actually saw this woman in Paris in March wearing this amazing fur collar and I couldn't stop staring at it so I guess that was the spark of the idea...and then...well....those jackets at balenciaga with the fur.....they just sort of convinced me that I couldn't do without a fur collar.

the booties are cool non? Good height too - not too extreme for my little feet.

I think for winter I just want to buy things that I like, as things, and I'll worry how to wear them later.

I adore the coat....so beautiful.

i think the booties are absolutely a dream!...

yeah- i know what you mean helena...

so often i have all these plans and then what i wind up wearing is something else altogether...

i wish to heck that my linen jodphurs from japan fit me!
:(

^^^ they can't be far off fitting you......

for some reason I am not really tempted by marni this season...i think its a bit crap.....slightly too authentic on the bin baggage!!!

no- you're right- it's not too far off...
maybe i can have them adjusted...
it would be so worth it...
especially this coming season...

i basically just need the waist let out about an inch..
i think the rest is fine...
...hmmm.......i'll have to ask purechris what he thinks...

alright- that's good...thanks helena!
...

everyone seems to have riding boots on their list...

how are you guys planning to wear them...?
just with jeans tucked in?

what about the high heel oxford shoe?
that seems to be THE shoe of the season...
who's planning to get a pair and what good ones have you seen?...

Hey guys How should a man wear riding boots? with kakis or dark pants i'm guessing tucked in since there would be no reason to getting high riding boots.

^ Re oxfords ... they were my prediction for the must-have item for this season back when we did that thread ... I think the best are the Marc Jacobs ones, and yet ... there is not one of the many many I've seen that I've absolutely fallen in love with. There's another shoe (a Mary Jane, melon patent) that is really speaking to me--I may get that instead of an oxford since I have set such a strict budget for myself.

I remember a Manolo for I think Peter Som?? oxford from a past season that I liked better than anything I've seen this year. But I don't think I still have the picture. If I wanted to get myself to a Manolo boutique, I could order it ... he needs to open one here :judge:

I am so not ready for pointy heels to be back ...

i'm not seeing any oxfords that i love either...:ermm:..

i may just have to wear what i already have...

I love high heel oxfords, I have two pairs. I havent seen any I like this season except for the MJ ones. I wear them with skinny jeans or a mini dress and tights.

Helena--have you seen these tall Margiela boots? I think they are very good, although I had a hard time getting them on. :flower: Absolutely adore the booties as well.

Not exactly oxfords, but I am quite drawn to these in the *black patent version. Saw them at Jeffrey and they are heaps better in person. The heel is still chunky but it's less rough, more sculpted.

I like the idea of oxfords, but I haven't seen any at the price point that I will pay for, so I'll have to do with a pair that I got last year.

Also I have snagged a high-waisted pencil skirt and pants as well as wide-legged pants and jeans into my closet.
The oxfords will look great with wide-legged pants/jeans and I am lusting for a bag in purple as well.
Some nice cashmere sweaters and a leather jacket and oh there is this silk clutch with feathers from Marni that I must have!

I plan to wear them with wide leg high waisted pants and tulip skirts.
