we all buy grey :D

:D..so true...

aris-- that whole thing looks really good...
i just don't think that sort of heel is realistic for me in real life...
that is the issue i have with a lot of them...
laika- that shoe certainly looks like one could tromp around town in them...
are they dries?...they must be...

maybe i should find the pants first...:ermm:...
and take it from there...
it's still early, right...?
there will still be more stuff...

* i really regret not getting the dries wedge sneaker in black...

i want to mix narrow dark underpinnings with oversized boxy knits and coats...

:heart::heart:

I am thinking something similar....I really like knits from Yohji, Sacai and what you posted from TSE. I saw a very cute navy TSE top at Barneys with buttons/pleats around the neckline...
I'd like to do some narrowish cropped pants and shorter skirts with them, paired with boots and some black patent shoes....maybe a slightly pointed toe on the shoes. COOP has a patent mary-jane that I really love...
I'm also liking the chunky zippers on some of Dries shoes this season.

Some more inspiration:

oh i love the isabel marant pics laika...
why is it so hard to find her stuff in the US...:hardhead:

i have been looking for a skirt actually...
i want something short and full like that....
i like short and fuller is easier to move in than narrow...
more realistic...and more modern imo...
maybe from see by chloe?...or maybe zara will do one?

Vagabond is doing some sneaker wedges for F/W they are not as nice as the Dries but.

in black patent

black leather

vagabond.com :flower:

im thinking about buying a tan leather bag.. like a really golden brown is this wrong in winter?

helena, butter has a wedge of that MM boot. its really nice and looks easy to wear and its dark brown too. love those black tall riding boots on yoox. I wear mine with above the knee skirts and also with pants tucked in. they don't have to be skinny pants either even boot cuts look good falling over the top a bit.

justme, thanks for the vagabond website. the victorian boot is very pretty.

laika, I love those shoes the best. if you see them in burgundy or brown patent, please let me know. I'm glad I have the Jil Sander wedge oxford from last year. It's a good thing because nothing is wowing me either. I do like what Dries has done, and the colors are beautiful, but for $700 I can't see buying a color patent shoe. I know halo in portland got in the wedge oxford laced one in black.

jutta, I'm with you on the charcoal jacket, the hunt is on..but it has to have an asymmetric cut for me at least.

gg, aren't you glad you have those gorgeous McQueen oxfords now? those are the bomb.

is anyone else feeling a need for a leather vest as outerwear? like yohji's?
and a sweater dress, like this one from pringle. it would look great with riding boots, yes? what fun it would be to wear with the orange Dries boots.

^I'm pretty sure Jeffrey has them in brown....they are really a cute shoe. Burgundy would be fantastic! I am really not liking the patent wedges though.

I totally agree...shorter & fuller seems more youthful to me as well. Very comfy and cute with mc boots. ^_^

Let me know if you see any good ones....see by chloe is a good idea. :flower: Although it's such a simple thing, would be nice to find one that's not $$$.

On another note, I also love this skirt & knit combo.

Isn't it?

I know where you are coming from with the leather vest....it would be just the thing to toughen up all these soft knits and fuller skirts. I definitely prefer the Yohji to the Junya though--I'm not big on plastic-y leather.

^^^Laika - yes i tried thos on in paris one time - they seem to be quite short on the leg i thought. I have a thing about where a knee length boot stops on the leg....maybe i have weird legs LOL

Not at all, that sounds lovely.

luckyme, I thought the same thing when GG bought those oxfords ... she was on top of that--they are arguably better than anything this season ...

helena, i am sure that is not the case!

the Pringle skirt is lovely, luckyme. :flower:

A couple more I found....not sure that they are quite right though.

{netaporter & dkny}

edit: the dkny pic is truly hideous, actually.

thanks just me...those are ok...but they aren't sold in the US and they aren't awesome enough to go to so much trouble as far as getting them over to me...:P...

but maybe someone will do a decent knock off or something..
maybe zara?..

lucky-- i think that skirt is too long and too tight around the mid section...
and i can't wear a sweater dress...i did that a lot in the 80's...but i don;t like it with all my current curves....makes me self conscious...:ninja:...

just me- i am thinking about a brown bag as well...and/or a grey one...
and instead of patent- maybe a shiny mock croc...
it all depends on what i see that makes my heart skip a beat...

i am very instinctual about it all...
that is why i love doing this...
the whole process of thinking about it and discussing it helps it become clearer in my mind...
and then i have to keep my eyes open to see what i might see....
you never know what may inspire you!...
^_^....

the vera wang show also inspired me tremendously...
i will def make an effort to get to a kohl's to check out that lower price line of hers come sept...

what about this skirt...i know it's cute..
is it too juvenile?...
worn with flat boots and tights and an oversized swtr or vest...?

oh- and i already have a large leather vest that is outerwear...
it's vintage and i got it in amsterdam...then i customised it a bit
it is a really good look imo...
i think that is a good idea lucky...

Can I just say I love this thread! :D Thanks for the positive about the brown bag, now I just have to find one that I love.

I think we are going to have a fairly warm Autumn though, I think this is really going to be the season for skirts! I'm inspired by the pelmet skirts form miu miu.. for day.

soft, I think it depends on the fabric--is that denim?

I really like the shape of this one, but I would hack off some of the length:

i love this thread too!...

the skirt above is corduroy actually...
i want something with some interesting texture to mix with other textures...
but not a boucle ...
:ninja:
NEVER boucle on the bottom...
who needs extra bulk in that area...>!?!?......
so maybe corduroy or satin/sateen...?...or both...?
:innocent:

that skirt is cute laika...but yeah- cut off some length and it's cuter....

i want to see what miu miu looks like now...

The Kohl's line was mocked endlessly in the thread about it ... but I must say I was impressed by the ad I just saw, which listed prices ... I thought from the pix & the prices that the quality could be quite decent & I'm very interested too.

The black skirt does look a bit juvenile by itself, but perhaps with more context ...
