Gotcha...a LOT of girls were getting that one done junior or senior year in high school in my area. To say it's popular is an understatement.

Yeah? I only know a few people with it done. On some people it looks good but it can be horrible on others... :ninja:

I'm a fan of piercings with subtlty. When I was in Europe I noticed that sooo many girls had their noses pierced so I was definitely influenced by that, plus by the traditional Indian nose piercings - still on the look out for a nose stud traditionally Indian but no luck yet.

Trista you are lucky yours didn't hurt that much! Mine was EXCRUCIATING. Getting is changed was worse... basically I had it out for 45 minutes and that was enough time for the hole to close up and so basically I had to get it repierced, which was doubly excruciating.

That was a larger piece of jewelry I had put in a few months after I got it done (which is why my nose is still red), which I quickly changed for something smaller. I love these on girls and am very happy with mine.

That looks good on you. You have really nice bone structure and a good profile. :flower:

I think people have to have really nice noses to pull off a nose ring :ninja: I was thinking about getting my rook done for a while but I have officially decided against it...just looks way too painful and has the possibility to look skank. I think I'm getting my earlobes done on tuesday...never got them done when I was little :)

Thank you! I don't think you have to have a certain kind of nose to get it pierced.. you can't see it in the picture (yay for knowing your angles) but I have an awful hump protruding in the middle of my nose, but I think my piercing makes it more aesthetically pleasing instead of less so.

I also just got my ear lobes pierced a year ago (at 22) and then this year got a second hole. Now I am horribly addicted to earrings!!

See my nose is what I hate the most on my face (that is saying something as I dislike my face) but the stud actually helps it look a little better because it is so small and subtle. I don't know if I got a greater pain tolerance or something-but I did go to the top tattoo/piercing place here in Seattle and the way she pierced it was what made it quick and easy. I'm lucky because I don't have a ton of pain-it looks a little red around the piercing site still-but it really only hurts after I soak it.

The only reason I'm getting my lobes pierced is because I found a ton of cute earrings on Etsy. It inspired me :magic:

I got my ears pierced a few days ago and I was wondering, if I sleep on one side is it normal to have some broken blood vessels? Because this morning when I woke up I looked at the back of my right ear and it looked like a big dark red bruise on it...but it didn't happen to my left ear, only the one that I slept on. Is that normal?

I guess that it could happen because resting weight on ear that has just been pierced would not be the best thing. I know that when I accidentally bumped my nose stud the day after I got it, it hurt.

Speaking of which, two weeks now and it looks almost fully healed. No joke, there's only redness after I soak it now. Someone I work with has had hers pierced longer than me and it looks worse.

It's gone away for the most part. It looked like I had the plague or something  Good to hear your nose is healing well!

i love lip piercings!
my friend got one and she looks really good in it:)
she wears a ring though, not just a dot or how you call it^^
she has it on the right down lip.

^I think one is of personal style and this one is for care of new piercings. Possibly.

I just got my bellybutton pierced about 4 days ago. It hasn't started to leak pus yet. It's not even red or inflammed. It's sensitive but not tender at all.

The gentleman at the parlor had me sign a waiver of some kind instructing me on the car of it as it heals.

"A piercing is a wound. Like wounds, it will take a while to heal. Air is the best medicine."

I've always wanted to pierce my navel, my sister had it done...and i keep going back and forth with the idea to get it done....a friend of mine had it done and said that the scar remains forever =/
any advice, comments, any past experinces?
I think a navel piercing is sexy, but is it worth it? guys input would be appreciated too :flower:

Dulci - I had one years ago but I had to take it out for cheerleading and it closed up by the end of practice. The peircing itself doesn't hurt too bad but it definately doesn't feel good! My hole has closed up and there isn't a scar for me at least.

It actually doesn't hurt at all. Right now, it's Day 7 of the healing process.

So far so good. ^_^ It's sensitive when I touch it, but it's not a huge bother. The place you get it done should give you specific instructions on how to care for it, and following them should leave you without any problems at all.

I have a teeny tiny nose stud.. its so small.. most people forget its there most of the time, myself included.. i have had it for two years now

It doesnt bother me at all.. i dont like it or hate it .. its just an other part of me now .. well thats how i see it

it didnt hurt at all imo btw :flower:

I have really grown to like nose piercings. However, I am in a professional position.. doubt it would be allowed.. Oh well. I'll think back to my days of my eyebrow piercing. ;)

Yeah I've had a tiny nose stud for over 2 months now and I say that it's pretty close to healed-even when I admittedly slacked on cleaning it. Part of it for me was getting a high-level gold stud (18K) which was a huge help. I don't even notice it really, and many people don't either.

I have considered getting my bellybutton pierced, but the 6 month healing time is a big deterrent-I would have to wait until October or November in order to do it because during the summer, I TAN. As in hit the beach whenever possible and slather up with oil-which is bad for a fresh piercing.

^^ most professionals i know with them have never had a problem .. here in the uk lots of indian ladies have them.. so they cant have one rule for one and not for the other .. so as a rule of thumb in the uk .. small nose studs are the only piercing aloud .. my friend is a infant school teacher and has one :flower: dunno maybe usa is different
