I live in Stamford, Connecticut (a city about 45 minutes out of NYC). There is a big downtown area in my city, but also beautiful forests (I live in the forest outskirting the city). It's a place with lots of modern architecture, but lots of classic as well. I guess it's a place where city and country meet, and I like that, because you can get away from all the noise if you want, or immerse yourself in it.

The pictures (from left to right) are:
1. Stamford's mall ("Scenes from a Mall" starring Woody Allen and Bette Midler was filmed here)
2. Woods (this looks like where I live)
3. Downtown.
4. 4th of July fireworks over Stamford.
5. More woods.
6. UConn Stamford.

It's as if you read my mind; I've wanted to create a thread like this for awhile but never did. Kudos to you!

Truth be told, I don't live directly in Seattle, but close enough to feel like I do. Does that make sense? I don't go to school in Seattle, don't grocery shop there, but it's the only big city near me.
