She took a very rich, embellished Oriental look and made only the way Prada could. B)

. I didn't like them at all. First of all, square toes should never be imposed on any woman. They are so ugly it hurts. And that torturous curved heel is just plain unattractive. Miuccia is obviously trying to take something conventionally ugly and elevate it but it doesn't work with these shoes.Prada's victory parade

MILAN: With "Peter and the Wolf" on the soundtrack and a collection of heroic elegance, Miuccia Prada once again changed the register of fashion. Her lush romance, cheered to the echo, was a great cultural sweep that took in Hussar's hats, long lean military coats touched with crystal snowflakes, shoes with magic mushroom heels and prints of ruins blurred into beauty by the computer.
The mix of historical drama, military strictness with a touch of mannish brutality in tailored suits with flat shoes made a show that lived up to the words "Victory parade," interspersed with howling wolves, in the music mix.
It was a moment of fashion emotion in its soaring romance its perfection of detail: buttonholes trimmed with velvet, crystal elbow patches and fur trims cuddling cuffs. Yet it created this romanticism without a frill or a ruffle and the way the coats were worn, open over patterned skirts, occasionally with a flash of flesh at the hips, had a subtle sensuality. Prada, who had been inspired by the paintings of the German artist Caspar David Friedrich'and by the superhero video games, had excelled herself in the mix of high culture and modernity. From the swagger of a velvet or brocade coat through the sexual slyness of a sheer dress printed with a fainted skeletal pattern, this was an excepetional show that seemed almost like a battle cry for the culture of "old Europe."

Miuccia is such a powerhouse. It just never stops. Another stunning, achingly beautiful collection. I see many Far East touches but there are elements which seem very Russian as well. A great mix for an incredible collection.
The robot sweaters and keychains are so fun! And I love that Prada shows of the past two years contain so many clever styling tricks. She's not just selling her own line but showing people new ways to wear the clothes they already have. So clever!
Yes yes yes! I'm so tired of this 50's trend all over the place. Miuccia, on the other hand, left the direct referencing for the amateurs (Marc Jacobs comes to mind) and instead took the idea in a totally new direction. I love this mix! instead of a direct 50's look, this is so rich in influences that arent tired.

As much as I love this show, I have to say that the shoes were a little. I didn't like them at all. First of all, square toes should never be imposed on any woman. They are so ugly it hurts. And that torturous curved heel is just plain unattractive. Miuccia is obviously trying to take something conventionally ugly and elevate it but it doesn't work with these shoes.
and i really like the heel, its something different B)me too!Originally posted by purechris@Feb 25th, 2004 - 5:55 pm
