Prada Mens S/S 09 Milan

We've all seen great ways to use rubber in fashion....this is not one of them. It just looks like a gigantic catheter.

I do applaud her for attempting to give men cleavage with those halter neck bra-strap/plunging neckline jackets. Seriously though, those jackets could look cool with a shirt underneath.

Whenever I see a Prada menswear show I can't help but wonder why she hates men so much.

i like it more than fw0809 that's for sure. i love vincent's outfit :)

I really like how Miuccia loves to degrade men but dominate the women in empowering lace suits, masculine cuts and so forth..

Fantastic material exploration that makes up for all those classic cut garments (dreaming of touching that rubber-like coat)

Some pieces may look feminizing but this is Miuccia's attempt of "fashion evolution". That's the inspiring spirit and the message that hits me the most.

... and giving it a second look, those straps seem interesting..

Looking at the entire thing, I find it very irrelevant.. I get the impression that some people just insist on thinking she's weirder than she actually is.. the collection could be anything by anyone really.. I even find Missoni's latest to be more conceptually absurd and degrading than Prada's take on menswear this season..

Miuccia likes it either strange or boring. during the denim part i actually paid more attention to that one cute guy in the audience than the clothes.

i'm quite fond of the way femininity was shown here. i like the cuts and the colors of the pieces. i don't think this is a bad collection at all.

i agree with you kahlilg.
i'm really liking this collection, even more after seeing it in its entirety. there's hints of femininity but i personally think it's pulled off successfully. call me crazy, but i think it's wearable too :flower:

i really really like the long dress-like shirts :ninja: but i've always liked it for the past few seasons.

Rubber Duckies

It seems designers are finding new life in exploring different ways to express sexuality or a 'lack-there-of'. There's something...enticing about how the clothes reveal, erogenous zones, the vocab of womenswear translated over. Anything with rubber gets a thumbs up from me.

reminds me of helmut lang... i think it's a solid collection.

Those off-the-shoulder portrait collars make me think of the Donna Karan woman's crazy black sheep brother breaking into her wardrobe and wearing her jackets.....that's such a DK look. The only difference there is that on a woman it highlights the decollete while on men it makes the clothes look ill-fitting.
