Prada Mens S/S 2013 Milan | the Fashion Spot

Prada Mens S/S 2013 Milan

^^^That look was very Margot Tenenbaum :D

Damn, that was one of my favorite Prada collection in years. I loved every single thing, from the music to the cast and obviously, the clothes.

She managed to make me feel like I was watching something very retro and at the same time, quite futuristic. The ironical tennis headbands and lifeguard sandals were also very amusing. I like the sport touch.

I also loved how minimal it was. Everything was perfectly cut, the color palette was on point, and the accessories seemed pretty good from afar.

I would wear that collection every summer for a long, long, time!

Finally, I think they could make a wonderful campaign out of it. I hope they don't disappoint once again.

Such a strong, powerful and clean collection! However, some details just can't be justified - sandals with socks, the sleeveless fur blouse... What was Miss Prada thinking? However, I liked that everything looked nice, fresh and clean and reminded me of the movie 'The Royal Tenenbaums'.

Yes, Prada brought the sporty back! A clean one is just what I've been longing to see after a long period of the kitchy collections. It made a great first impression on me.
The venue was pure perfection, thank you OMA, thank you Miuccia! :D

I think this collection was more a statement about Prada as a brand than a preview for what's coming for menswear next season..
Let's face it, what was more interesting, the clothes, or the fact that a quarter of the collection was womenswear? Or the fact that she used older models? Or the strange but beautiful runway, with an awkwardly designed step onto a slope the models hobbled down?
Perhaps it was a statement of how broadly Miucca Prada can design, and how diverse her clothing is? Menswear, womenswear, formalwear, casualwear, furs for summer and winter, they have all merged into one, not to mention unisex accessories and looking at the set, interiors. You needn't go to another brand for anything; Prada, apparently, has it all.

A bit Jil Sander-ish SS09 with some of the tops.

I don't know if I liked it but I didn't hate it. It's too plain. Will wait for more detailed pictures to see if I can appreciate it more.

what song is playing in the beginning?

Brigitte Bardot - Contact :flower: There were also some part of the iconic scene of Bardot and Michel Piccoli in Le Mépris.

Loved those mixes with the music, I hope we can enjoy the show with the original soundtrack :ermm:

Agree, you summed it up perfectly. This is so amazing. Loved every single thing about it.

I love Miuccia, and I'll always have a soft spot for her even when she goes completely crazy with prints and wacky references. Yet it feels so good to have a clean and simple collection, amazing without excentricity. The only excentricity being the use of sportswear as a formal way of dressing which she brialliantly. The cuts and lines are amazing, you can see the sports references but everything feels so elegant.
I also like the fact that this collection looks like early Prada and today Parada meeting halfway. It's pure and minimal like it was back in the day but you can see Miucca's sense of humor in the tennis headbands, the plastic sandals, the socks, the music, the gender-bending uniforms and the nonchalance luxury. ( Fur coats with the complete sport outfits).
Very beautiful collection and very wearable which makes it even better.

Prada | Spring Summer 2013 | Full Show (Exclusive/You Tube/Original Soundtrack)

Sometimes I think Miuccia being Miuccia just gets away with everything she does.

There are beautiful pieces here but I wish she gave us more variety. I feel like we're being robbed if there are only 8-10 cuts/styles but just done in different colourways. The sandals are a bit reminiscent of Prada Spring 2008. It's like Givenchy with the Birds of Paradise. Same print, same footwear, done in different styles.

I agree about wearability but let's face it, Prada is very good when it comes to translating runway looks to retail. Perfect example would be last Spring's collection wherein there were a lot of watered down versions of the rhinestoned looks. There were polos and t-shirts created from the same prints. Point is, I want crazy Miuccia when it comes to Spring collections. The runway show would've been the perfect avenue to do so and they could have done so without sacrificing wearability because they do change the clothes once it hits the stores.
