Prada Mens S/S 2014 Milan

...
The shoes weren't great, but you can't have everything. Especially when the set design (want to know who's responsible!) and casting was that good.

Rem Koolhaas' OMA designs and furnishes the runway of Prada for years now.

Quite about the only thing I consistently like about Prada presentations. I hardly find anything desirable in here and if the womenswear part is supposed to elevate or accent the mood of the collection, to my eye, it only made it worse.

:( What a let down, this is so unpleasant, in every way - awful print, unflattering fit, and absurd styling. It's like someone raided their grandfather's closet with unfavorably results.
Prada made me a fan last season, she lost me on this one.

The wider silhouette is refreshing, we've seen enough skinny/slim fitted stuff over the last year. Plus I kinda like the grandpa going to hawaii theme, but I've always liked a good tropical print.

I seldom see game changers in Men's fashion, but this collection was one of them. By far the best men's collection I have seen all season. The looser silhouette is refreshing , she took 1940s leisure wear for men and made it look so modern and fresh. Brilliant!

All I thought of was S/S 2012 except more romantic colors and uglier shoes.

I don't get it. Maybe I'm getting old.

The women's looks however are undeniably AWFUL.

It's not you Mutterlein-- it's Miuccia. The power of Prada doing "ugly" before was that it was something that was only available from Prada-- unless you tore apart some vintage sofa for the fabric. Now, if you want to copy this look-- just go to the thrift store.

I adore Miuccia, but this is all horrible. I wouldn't wear any piece presented here. But I think John Waters would love every single piece in this collection because this is exactly how he dresses.

Loose, baggy tapered, high-waisted pants teamed with a structured double-breasted jacket or shiny loose zipped shirt/jacket and retro-style sneakers is the uniform of thrift store owners in LA. And thrift stores are exactly the place to go if you want this retro-40s look. Everything is so unflattering. As an editorial, I would say it's "neat", as a Prada collection, it's just weak. I guess these shirts with the 1940s Hawaiin/floral prints is Miuccia response to all those Givenchy graphic tees that are selling so well. Still too pedestrian and easily copied by getting the real thing at a thrift store.

On the bright side, her color-palette is as strong as ever. I do love that consistency about her.

Deliciously and unapologetically kitsch. I can't help but love when Miuccia goes all the way with the notion of something perhaps considered of bad taste and turns it into something desirable and slightly comical. Tropicalia, 40's Hawaii, Cuban bokers, Miami Vice... inspirations that shouldn't look good but somehow she makes it look interesting and fresh. Maybe it's not flattering for some people, but at least she's committed to propose new ideas and new silhouettes each season. Prada always lifts up the season.

Yeah no. A let down for sure. I had high hopes for the collection. Some pieces were ok

Magnum P.I. meets my unfashionable grandpa.

The majority of these looks (if not everything) I could recreate in an afternoon at my local thrift store like Phuel mentioned. The shoes, the unflattering pants, the awful styling- and don't even get me started on those dresses. A complete eyesore. With every look that came out my eagerness for it to end increased.

Despite how eccentric the collection was it still managed to bore and repel me. S/S 12 basked in kitschiness but it was appealing. I'm left to wonder what went wrong here.

I like that she shift gear to present prints and colors. Milan has been about neutral and monochrome.

So great! I'd wear more of it! I love the high top boxing trainers, all the satin, the jumpers, almost everything I'd wear instantly! This was like the golf and car collection had been taken and improved drastically. The women's clothes were also stunning.

I love the hawaiian prints and the theme, but the styling is horrendous with so many looks. The womens resort was executed way better, imo.

this collection sends the mind soaring with its reference points. miuccia prada picked up right where kim jones left off in appropriating the outright scariness of dinos and jake chapman's "garden in hell," but she somehow created a through line from that horrifying place to the eroticized idyllic tropical imaginings of gauguin. perhaps the most compelling part of this collection remains in the juxtaposition of that kitschy idea of vacation wear with a serious proposal for a new silhouette for the modern man. it's in that mixture of the saccharine with the self-serious that the genius of prada shines through. a good collection doesn't give us easy answers, it asks us difficult questions. this collection does just that.

This collection continues to fascinate me, esp after seeing the full show. Prada always has divided opinions, but there is no denying her genius and ability to push boundaries in fashion.

the live stream was such a mess, so they decided to cut the 16 minutes show into seven minutes.B)

Love it. Does someone know the names of the female models?
