Prada S/S 08 Milan

Hmm, I'm actually shocked. This is a Prada collection that I actually like. I was just discussing with someone how I have never really like a Prada collection. I like the cuts and the fabrics. I actually don't find it to be too out there in terms of design.

eye make-up was amazing

Some of the pieces i don't like so much, i'm not too keen on the checks and the huge gold dress is too much.
But the sheer pieces are lovely. I really love the colours, the greens and the purples. This is light and dreamy. I actully like most of the shoes too, the gold and black ones are great.

even though i still quite dislike the collection, and the accessories, i admire miuccias "refusal" to make clothes that don't neccessarily appeal to everyone despite the scale at which prada operates.

^ wait til the collection hits the stores. they always do as many styles of items as possible to appeal to as many people as possible. it's all about making money.

i hate these accessories, they're hideous. i don't think any major dept. store in the us would ever order them. the stores will have nothing but dull diluted versions.

yeah i hear ya. i was at the soho store not too long ago and was like, "where did these pink bow dresses come from?" which was a drastic contrast from the bright mohair coats that where in the fall collection.

Prada always shock me a lot when the show first comes out, but several months later I will fall in love with most of the items and still don't know why I hate them at the first time.
But I'm not sure about the S/S 08 collection. Maybe some coming editorials will change my mind again. And I'm so curious about the new campaign.

^You explained perfectly how I feel, I was originally so dissapointed when i saw the collection, but now I love it, the printed pieces are my favorite, after I saw Sienna Miller wearing them in Pop I feel in love with them, and the accessories I always liked but there even better then I originally thought, love the printed bags.

I disliked the collection when I first saw it, thought it may grow on me..and it really didnt! However, I am in love with the accesories!!! Those black/gold boots posted by seanutbutter are heaven on earth!!!!

^^Yeah...Prada usually grows on you. I hated FW 07 at first, but I've really grown to like it. Same with SS 07, FW 06, SS 06, you get the picture. But this collection hasn't yet, and I really doubt that it ever will.
