Rodarte for Target

oh so that's the leopard print jacket.. i hope it's not expensive. its not too special, but i want to get it to have something from the collection

thanks for the pics sungelly!

that rib dress looks better on this tiny picture than the first one. I still want to see the rest!! and in person of course.

i like the tulle clothes that are worn under the leopard print coat.

The more things that keep popping up the more I can't wait for this collection^_^ I am really loving that leopard print coat:heart:

Very dissappointed so far. This stuff is ugly and I'm not getting a Rodarte vibe at all.

i'm also really liking the saffron/mustard colored cardigan and skirt. i dont own anything in this colour. could be good for my wardrobe.
im also hoping there are some small accessories to go along with this (like those gloves for example) i am not liking the knee highs. it looks as if they would cut off my circulation.

The mustard piece looks nice! The ribcage dress with the striped sweater underneath is a little on the Hot Topic/Avril Lavigne side, no good. I hope this has some cool Rodarte esque knit sweaters present somewhere and maybe some things that could be unisex :)

i'm really digging the mustard cardigan and tulle dress/skirt? combo too! I think it would fit perfectly into my wardrobe. Of course, must see it in person! Only two more months...hang in there everyone!

it costs 80$. youll probably be able to find a 10% off code for target.com however.

thanks lucy!

that a bit too pricey for me, and for that look. im sure something similiar could be found in a good thrift shop. still, im determined to have something, those gloves are the only thing right now till we see in stores

this is the real lookbook image. from nitrolicious.com

ick....it looks really cheap-o and really bland if you ask me. i think the only thing that really strikes(though not terribly exciting) me is that black dress which is very much in the vein of their early work. i'm not sure they do basics that well....to me it doesn't look that discernible as sarafpour....take away the tights, the boots, the rib-cage t'shirt(which, let's be honest, looks like a knock-off of alexander mcqueen)and the styling, and that's essentially what you have really.

i really want to see the individual pieces, but the only one i want right now is still the mustard cardigan

What a disappointment this is turning out to be. I was hoping this would at least somewhat resemble their recent collections. I guess some of the individual pieces are cute, but as a whole, it's a let down.

AMEN. I am UTTERLY disappointed - so sad. I love Rodarte and was really looking forward to an affordable interpretation of their couture stuff. But this is such a vast departure, and what an ugly one. Hate it all.

I do have to say this:

I think it is extremely smart of Kate and Laura to have made this collection completely different from anything we have seen on their runway. It would not be fair to their clients to offer cheap knock-offs' for the general public. Their client's are paying a certain price to be a part of their world, and if all of a sudden, everyone can access this 'world,' and at a far cheaper price, they really would be betraying their loyal customers. And for a young company such as Rodarte, doing such a thing would be fatal.

If they were far more established, a collection of watered down runway looks might have been acceptable, but at this point, I think they were very wise to take this Target collection in the direction that they have.

But doesn't that defeat the point of these capsule collections? They are supposed to bring their runway aesthetic to the masses at a lower price. Previous Go! Designers have managed to incorporate their style into the Target collections without compromising their main lines in any way. Why should Rodarte be different?
