I love their AW 09 collection for men! Nick Snider is the face of it, I love it :-)
I even made a post about it on my blog, that's how much I love it: the Fair Isle sweaters, the trenches... Love it!

^^ i saw flat lace-up boots in Elle UK for 30£, but did not see them in store. anyone ?

The skirt that Alexa Chung is wearing [posted on the last page] - is that the leather one or the tafetta-ish one? I love the leather one but the sizing is outrageous! It makes me so angry how i'm a UK6 in every other shop yet in H&M I have to take a size 10 on bottom halfs :|

I've noticed that too, then I realised if you look at the sizing in another shop, a 6 is a euro 34, but in H&M its a 32. So a 6 in H&M is like a size 4 in another shop and an 8 in H&M is like a size 6, if that makes any sence. :lol:

disfordangerous- Yeah true but I just thought that was dodgy conversion on their part! That means they only go up to a size 14 which is unusual :/. Also, COS do the same system as they're linked with H&M and their sizes run quite small too!

^I think H&M's sizing is huge. Their size 34 is often too big on me, and I'm usually a size 36 in just about anything

Loverunway: That sounds very odd? My friend who is a UK8 always in topshop fx. is also a UK8 in the leather skirt?? It's the tafetta'ish skirt Alexa is wearing.

H&M runs a different sizing system to Topshop and other high street chains. What H&M classes as a 34, Topshop classes a 36. So their sizing is smaller than any other. I can't tell you why they do it, but it does cause some confusion with the customers!

^I ordered that jacket online 2 weeks ago. :)

Honeycombchild: I find H&M and Topshop sizes very similar.

The jacket's Divided Editions isn't it? So it's suffering from the delays! I've no idea why that collection's been delayed.

Caroulemapoule: Really? You're one of the few then! H&M are tiny in sizes, particuarly in the trouser department, but they do definately run a size smaller then Topshop do.

^Maybe they do, but I wouldn't ever believe a UK12 to be a 38 and a UK 14 to be a 40? And so on? That's what you are saying right?

And yes, the jacket is from the DE collection.

What I'm saying is a H&M UK 10 would be a Topshop's UK 12. So H&M's version of a 10 is a size smaller than a Topshop 10. If that makes sense?

^OH, I forgot to say that I was talking about topshop sizes, because as I understand it, you say that: UK12 is a EU38 and a UK 14 is a EU40? And so on?

A Topshop size UK 12 is a Euro 40, but for H&M a UK 12 is a Euro 38.

So for H&M a Euro 40 would be a UK Size 14.

caroulemapoule: you are sooo lucky that you can shop h&m online...i still don't understand why they don't have on-line shopping for the states...is the jacket nice? i'm thinking of having my sister stalk the Boston store for me to get it...

Maybe my logic is off, but wouldn't it be actually a size bigger? If you have to take a Topshop 12 but a 10 at H&M? Would mean that said 10 is cut as large as one size up at Topshop. I'm confused. Need food, can't think...

Edit: Or do you mean that what in fact is a size 10 is labeled an 8 at H&M by "H&M's version of a 10"?

It would make Topshop a size bigger than H&M each, yes, and therefore would make H&M run a size smaller than Topshop does which was what I was trying to saying.

Oh I have a sore head trying to do this. Haha

I think this would be the best way to explain it!

H&M
6 = 32, 8 = 34, 10 = 36, 12 = 38, 14 = 40, 16 = 42

Topshop
6 = 34, 8 = 36, 10 = 38, 12 = 40, 14 = 42, 16 = 44

I think so too but in their larger collection (Bib) is just the opposit - they're on the smaller side :blink:
