Agreed. They have like zero eye for talent. They have a couple of good models, but they had Avril Lavigne. Like, what the hell?

They have an eye for talent to a certain degree, just not anything editorial or fashion driven. Their successful talent is all commercially driven, sans Flavia and Chanel. Still, they're no where near successful enough in the elite aspects of the modeling world to ever warrant that title. I just feel bad for some of the girls that go through SotW, because some of them are actually quite amazing girls, who unfortunately, will never be represented to their full potential.

Also, just to throw this out there, I'm loving the editorial board at New York Model Management right now. They've been in a dry spell as of late, but they seem to have retooled and remixed their board. The girls are looking more and more editorial. Should be interesting to see how that develops...

So...yes they do have an eye when it comes to chanel, cameron, etc. but not when it comes to flavia.
They were just lucky that she came to them after supreme.

When all your hot shot agencies of the moment have been around as long as Ford has and have produced and promoted the number of top models (with long successful careers) that Ford has ....then look me up. I'm not saying that Ford is at the top of their game right at this moment, but don't shut them out just yet.

"An eye for talent" does not necessarily denote that they scouted or are the original NYC agency for the girls. Again, I meant to say that their eye for talent was more related to their inconsistant ability to market their existing talent to the best of their ability. I already thanked you for the information as to Flavia's origins, no need to keep dragging it out.

A lot of ppl here think modeling began with Women, DNA, and IMG. These guys wouldn't be around if it weren't for Ford and to a lesser degree, Elite. These two are the two most influential agencies ever in the history of modeling.

Ford is having serious troubles right now keeping bookers and their top girls, but NEVER discount any business htat has been around as long as them. And those of you who don't think they don't have an eye for talent, current girls like Alison Nix, Rachel Alexander, Cameron R, Carolyn R, Carolyn M, Suzanne Diaz all started at Ford. Theyve had problems keeping their top girls but they have a very extensive scouting network and are very, very good at finding girls with great potential.

If they ever actually decided to seriously pursue high fashion, they absolutely have the resources and connections to make their girls stars. But they are more interested in pursuing the commercial route in order to make money. I don't particularly agree with it, and I'd love to see more of their girls doing the high fashion campaigns and ads, but to dismiss Ford as minor league footnotes is to ignore fashion history.

No, no one thinks that. Ford was big in 2001 and then slowly dna ate them up and now there are desperate for girls, they have to go to myspace to find talent .
