Thigh High / Over the Knee Boots

I don't see why tall people shouldnt be able to pull them off..here are some models wearing them.

Who says tall people can't pull them off? IMO I find it realllllly difficult to see how a short person can pull these off... it would just make them look shorter...

Unless you layer a dress or an oversize jersey so it looks more like tights or skinny jeans is difficult for short people to pull them off ... damn!

^ Those stilettos look so painful!

I still want a pair of black suede "Monica" Louboutins. I'm telling myself I'll find them in the "off season" this spring/summer.

Louis Vuitton and Prada also have thigh high boots in their F/W 2009/2010 collection..

Noticed: The Lengths They Go To
AS prevalent as pants at the fall fashion shows, thigh-high boots are the item to own next season. Or, for some, this minute.
In Paris, fashion editors fortunate enough to get their legs into a pair — none are in stores now — trotted them out like prized show ponies. Some of the savvier women had procured them last fall. Others, like Emmanuelle Alt of French Vogue (near left), pinched them right off the runway. (In Ms. Alt’s case, they were Isabel Marant.) Still others cobbled together makeshift versions. It has been reported that Lauren Santo Domingo of Vogue took an old pair of Brian Atwood boots to Leather Spa in Midtown Manhattan and had 14 inches of suede tacked on.
There is an easier way: At last check on eBay, there were 20 pages of thigh-high boots, ranging from $58 Sexy Stripper styles to a pair of black suede Manolo Blahniks for under $1,000. Get them while you can.

It's a sad thing since that pretty woman movie. People still associate them with hookers. Sometimes that's totally right, sometimes it's not. The boots in the FW 2009 shows are to me nothing like the pretty-woman-kind. As long as they're made from decent leather and not from pvc or other plastics. A real thigh-high boot (not just over the knee) is difficult to find outside the tacky fetish-circuit. I can't wait until some proper thigh-high's arrive in the stores. But I still believe it's going to be hard to market them.

At heathrow Kate Beckinsale had these bad *** thigh high boots on, she looked amazing.

I surprisingly love them! My first thought would've been on the more trashy skanky side, but the woman in the leopard print that nuitblanche posted really changed my mind about them. Loving how it looks!

From this article on the thigh-high boot trend for Fall

Above, from left:
Giles: No caption required.
Alexandre Herchcovitch: There's no faster route to hookerville than pairing your thigh-highs with fishnets.
Jean Paul Gaultier: Ditto to the above, except Gaultier was kind enough to build in the fishnets for you. Kind of a 2-for-1 deal in Bad Taste.
Prada: Ideal for luring the kinky fisherman into your wading pool.

Above, from left:
Hussein Chalayan: We knew garter belts were big this season, but really now...
Ohne Titel: We're torn. The cinching is cool, but looks good only if your thighs are the width of a pencil.
Marc Jacobs: The patent leather finish is slightly tacky, but when paired with a retro frock, it's kind of amazing.
Lacoste: Like a slightly perverse schoolgirl, these boots look like thigh-high socks. Ingenious.

Above, from left:
Tim Hamilton: Utterly modern (or mod), especially when paired with the Edwardian hat and white tights.
Rodarte: Take some of the heat off your legs with a little minidress so amazing that they won't know which one to gawk at first.
Chloé: Okay, these are technically knee-high, but this burnt orange shade looks so unbelievably crisp and sophisticated when paired with silk pants and capped with gold.
Stella McCartney: Basically, these are tights, but much warmer and oh so much cooler. We are in love. Pass along the studded pair and the $1,600 to go along with them, and we'll be in business.

I do not like those last ones on Lauren
it's too lingerie-inspired

I like this best when it's butchered up and when it stays away from the sexy since it's something that so easily can be mistaken for ******boots
