Thigh High / Over the Knee Boots

^ Thanks for sharing. With boots in general, the shape of the leg can create a lot of issues sometimes.

A person I used to sell a lot of clothes to in New York finally went the custom route. On the same note, I have also had friends who have had difficult foot shapes and could never find heels that fit right around the ball of her foot.

One of those things many probably take for granted... a common foot/leg size & shape

when they have a piratey vibe to them i think this treand can be a blast to wear.

these Giuseppe Zanotti's have a nice texture, sultry color and the wide brim that works so well over a slim jean.

I adooooooore thigh high boots and these GZ ones are fabulous. I loved the looks in post #117. It goes to show that these boots only look hookerish if you style them so. If you stay away from a Pussycat Dolls theme, you'll look really chic.

And if you really can't decide, Winter 2004, Lagerfeld did "Stiletto Pants" for Chanel... basically thigh high boots that never stopped and ended in pants, or pants that never stopped and ended in heels... you decide...

about a year ago halston put these amazing, completely un-stripperish suede ones out in dark grey and dark brown, and there were originally like $1500... i watched them fall down all the way to less than $500 one sale at nordstrom, and I still didn't buy them because I didn't have the money. I still regret it. :(

I loved the halstons, but they disapeared from NAP in minutes -I think I have posted a picture somewhere here of them!

I feel like those would seriously chafe.

have to say, it's fantastic, i mean thigh high boots, but as well as a big challenge to the legs. i guess only models could make it right
also, i doubt whether it would be comfortable

Wasn't even looking and WHAM....

The Video in this Post are the Chanel Stiletto Boots. Very first outfit in white worn by Linda Evangelista I believe

I recently bought some beautiful Enrico Antinori thigh high leather boots. They are so wonderful!! Theyre flat, black leather (not suede), almond toed and so comfortable and very wearable!
I don't think they look cheap or trashy at all. It all depends how you wear it. I prefer to wear them with something fitted in the leg and something billowy on top. I'm so in love with them!

For the thigh high boots, it can be a great look. I would stay away from the patent, PU, PVC or platforms when it comes to those styles.

And what do you know... This was in my inbox this morning from Neiman Marcus:

Above the knee boots and thigh high boots seem to be an in trend for fall season.

the ones from Isabel Marant are super chic, you have to be careful with such boots because they can either look fabulous or....:(

^I agree with you. I was talking to friends today and you either look really hot/sexy or really really cheap

done right...runway 2006 hussein chalayan and the flat boots that i have ma+ which are narrow but not tight and wider on top for the pirate look i like.

and a sure hit for this upcoming season, worn as a legging (i confess, i caved)...stella...

Well, I pre-ordered the Isabel Marants! I payed more than I usually would for a pair of boots, but they were too perfect to pass up. What sold me on them was the heel. Most thigh highs I've seen have a tall stilletto; these are shorter and chunkier, which prevents them from looking whorish.

Anyway, I was perusing Style's F/W 09 Accessories Report and noticed several pairs of over-the-knee boots....

Frankly, I dislike all of them. In my opinion, a thigh high boot should have very few, if any, bells and whistles--it depletes their cool factor.

I like the Stella ones, more so if those are cut-outs. Ithink they would look brill over coloured tights.

classicalbang - Where did you find the Isabel Marants? I've been thinking of ordering them too!

Thanks! :flower: Now, if only I could acquire those strappy Kirkwood/Rodarte boots...not that I think I could wear them, I'd just display them as art, lol.

I read a rumour that he's making a below the knee version that will be available at Browns but who knows if it's true. Not nearly as exciting as a taller version anyway.

I think that the ones Maison Martin Margiela did for Fall Winter 2008 set off this trend with flare and gusto and are conceivably the best version I've seen.

^This pair looks gorgeous! So chic and sleek. Thanks for posting!

But then it really comes down to the shape of their legs and the style of the whole look. I wonder if a woman with a different shape is able to pull this off.
