Thigh High / Over the Knee Boots

I just spotted the most gorgeous pair of thigh high boots at a store nearby.. true leather, wonderful shape. I must have them!.
I'm not really a blue jeans kind of girl but I think they look nice with dark demin.. I think an all-black ensemble or pairing them up with a dress or skirt might be too severe for real life.. at least in my surroundings!. but I've really grown to love them these season, they look so comfortable!.

The Hussein Chalayan, McCartney and Ohne pairs are my favorites.

Never ever thought I would own a pair of thigh high boots..... but now I do. I think the flat suede ones are the easiest to pull off, but I love some of the other on this thread. They can be difficult though. I havent worn them as much as I would like cause Im not sure what else to pair them with. I try to keep it simple... here is my attempts...

I had a flat heel suede pair in 2006 and sold them on ebay for cheap...kicking myself now. I have a leather pair with a heel, but i feel to stripperish in them, I should probably part with them.

I find thigh high boots tacky and will never in a million years wear them nor be a fan of them...EVER.

 Now if only I could find a pair that didn't make me look like a street walker...

closet kisses, i love how you paired your thigh high boots in the second outfit!
and i just love the embroidery of that vest. is it vintage?

I want/need a pair SO badly!! I've been dying over the ones I've seen on Kate Lanphear and Emmanuele Alt. I definitely need to find a pair for next fall.

can't seem to find a nice pair anywhere! I've been casually looking for about 6 months

when they have a piratey vibe to them i think this treand can be a blast to wear.

these Giuseppe Zanotti's have a nice texture, sultry color and the wide brim that works so well over a slim jean.

Giuseppe Zanotti are really nice. Jean Gaborit also does decent custom work if you have problem legs or are looking for a perfect fit.

Ironically enough, there used to be laws against women wearing tall boots. The thigh high boots used to be for the pirates (who often turned the cuffs down) as well as crusaders et all who used them for protection, riding as well as storage :O

Women sometimes rebelled by wearing these under longer skirts.

I love the pair Isabel Marant did for F/W 09 (the ones Emmanuelle Alt has been wearing). I also like how they were styled... it was a good example of how thigh-high boots don't have to look like hooker attire.

Oh I just remembered I bought some for my wife and they are too small and still have them. Vintage ones and not at all like a HHHHHH The heels are about 3" and neither chunky or not chunky in a size 7.5 or so. She is too tall, they are made for some one about 5'6".

about a year ago halston put these amazing, completely un-stripperish suede ones out in dark grey and dark brown, and there were originally like $1500... i watched them fall down all the way to less than $500 one sale at nordstrom, and I still didn't buy them because I didn't have the money. I still regret it. :(

I love thigh high boots. They are my go to item all winter, every winter. Mine are usually flat. I don't think they look too hooker-like on me because I cover EVERYTHING else up, just showing a slither of thigh, often with tights on or long socks peeking out the top.

It's so hard to find good pairs, especially since I have very skinny legs and don't like anything with a heel above 8cm for everyday wear. Last winter I wore the Zara chanel knockoffs (black leather, flat, patent toe cap) to death, they are so warm and so comfy. I bought a fabulous pair of flat Pied-A-Terre taupey-grey suede boots in the sale a few months ago, they are very slim on the leg and beautiful quality.

I love the Marant ones, them with a 6cm heel (and a not insane price tag) would be PERFECT. I hate how searching for shoes always becomes such a quest! I'm so used to just getting clothes I love but can't have tailored.
