Tom Ford S/S 2011 New York

The video is just glorious, that's what you call glamour!!!!!
Even though I don't like every looks, the collection is really amazing.
I love the sultryness, all the glitter, the accessories are indeed impressive and so are the fabrics.
It may not be my absolute favourite collection of the season but its definitely one of a kind.

Maybe the video would of been better if they played a better song....

The video is interesting because it really puts energy into the presentation but what's the point when you can barley see the clothes and the photographs are terrible? I was kinda hoping for more.
But the collection itself is absolutely dashing. Electric.

I especially love the furry/feathery dresses on Julianne and Du Juan. Any idea what are they made of?
Julianne's is a mix of fringe and feathers on the hem, Du Juan's is hand painted fringe.

The photos are all by Terry and his team, who were positioned throughout the venue to get different shots.

To be fair, some of these clothes are hot; the smooth black drop-back dress, the bronze knot-front with the necklace-welcoming neck. I love the fringing on the dresses but I just can't get over the long skirts with the long sleeves with the high necks, it doesn't do anything for me; it doesn't feel now, and before anyone says it, it doesn't feel tomorrow either.
Though, unfortunately for me, seeing the influence Tom has over people, it probably is tomorrow..

The presentation shows that this whole line is geared to celebrity which is tacky.
Pity, I was looking forward to the sex and offence of the Tom Ford Gucci era.....Red carpet monopoly does not interest me at all...I can already see Rachel Zoe's clients all over this :yuk:

one of my favorite pieces of the accessories is the necklace made of a big piece of crystal, wrapped around by gold. so simple, so stunning, such a statement piece.

if he needs anything, then it's a shoe designer. they're so subpar compared to the clothes.

I agree, some of the shoes are great, the sandals on Stella for exemple. But others, like the boots on Beyonce are quite hideous.

can't believe terry is TF's house photographer.

the video is a mess, but I guess the internet audience is not the priority here.

ps. all the curtain boys are handsome... typical tom ford, a gay-touch in everything he does.

The heels of the shoes are great, but other than that they are horrible. The clothes, however, are gorgeous. I love what's on Stella and Natalia the most. Everything is gorgeous and Tom makes me smile. I'm pleased ^_^

Some of the black clothes are gorgeous, the rest is sub par. Beyonce looks hideous.

I think the video is a mess, he's trying to create a sort of glamorous situation, that used to come naturally a couple of decades ago,but because it's faked, it makes everything look terribly contrived.

Hmmmm...

Tom Ford has been preaching us for the past three months about this "new way" of presenting a collection bla bla bla... he kept us waiting for a month online to finally see his show and all wee get is a messy 3 min video that is fun to watch, yes, but feels like a pre view of what it should really be, I mean come on!, by looking at the video I thought some models had girdles on and it is actually a transparent piece on fabric on the skirt!

For a start it was ok, but hopefully he will inject more budget on future presentations cause it didn´t meaasure up to the clothes, the stylling and even himself, it looked a bit amateurish to me.

I much preffer those photos bit abbey lee.

i can't take you guys... why go after Beyonce so? You're hurting my heart.

@j'adore he won't be doing presentations anymore... he's been saying that "for three months". and i've never heard him say anything about a new way of presenting.

Whoa! I knew that with the video we'd get a better idea of the presentation! I loved the vibe and to see the fringe dresses move!

It was definitively the event as described.

Now, everyone back to discuss the collection! Not the celebs! :judge:

As someone said before, the black clothes are truly beautiful. But the rest is beyond sub-par, I wonder if anyone would drool over those other pieces if a 2nd tier designer produced them. No one wants to look like a disco ball.

The look with the orange(?) fluffy coat looks like it came straight from Sonia Rykiel's show.

love the video. i´m really curious, which actress or singer will wear some piece of this collection at the Grammys or Golden Globes...
