I love Rihanna and think she photographs beautifully, but this is not it. And why were Inez and Vinoodh channeling Annie Liebowitz?

Also, there's so much tension in Rihanna's pose which was not balanced by her expression and ASAP Rocky. It feels so forced.

Again, this is why this edition sticks with repetitive studio covers. Without it, it's basically pure nothingness. The reliance on nostalgia and/or familiarity masks the glaring absence of a creative direction.

I probably wouldn't be that harsh but they surely could have done MUCH better. Actually they had to, because when you have Rihanna on one hand and I&V on the other, you shouldn't be allowed to do wrong. Hope the contents will be alright, though (my usual hopes, so often destroyed by the magazines laziness).

The hair is distracting in the worst way and the photo is kinda giving People Magazine reveal rather than Vogue. Definitely her weakest Vogue cover to date, she’s too beautiful to be photographed so poorly.
