This was made last year. Can't remember when the rumor started. Maybe she will do a second cover in the future with her new baby, but I doubt it will be for Vogue US. A W cover or ELLE.

I got my issue today. It’s a flop if you ask me, really disappointing for a March issue.

I don’t have time to write a full review but it’s 296 pages and there’s the Rihanna story, a shoot by David Sims (I say shoot, but a collection of disjointed images is more accurate), Adut by Sean Thomas (this does have some pretty shots I’ll admit), Kendall by Zoe Ghertner (as boring as it sounds) and the Cho Gi-Seok shoot in Seoul already posted in the US Vogue thread. Far from a keeper in my opinion!

Just an update; the stories I mentioned above (minus the Sims shoot) have been posted in the US Vogue thread. So we have almost identical March issues from the 2 big Vogues (features aside).

I genuinely don’t mind there being one editorial printed in multiple editions, but the bulk of the fashion content? And for one of the year’s “big” issues? So disappointing.

It’s not even like the stories are any good. Years ago I wouldn’t have minded some of the glorious shoots these magazine’s used to create appearing in different editions, but nowadays it’s just adding insult to injury.

Is there a Tatjana tribute inside? I mean, for years she was the face of British Vogue before Kate.

Flicking through this online while I wait for the subscription copy to arrive - which happened while I was in the middle of writing this - there are plenty of ads, and I like the feeling of a change in season, but knowing that the content is being used and reused in editions around the world means none of it feels special, none of it feels truly tailored to the readers of each individual magazine. It doesn't connect directly, and it doesn't make sense.

It's very expensive designer fashion, hotels and properties being sold in a generic high street manner. On one page, Vogue promotes a £220,000 Omega watch, on another page, it's a fashion shoot to be recycled four or so times to save money.

In addition to the editorials, the Archive page looks at a Barry Lategan image from March 1977, the Beauty Section has Tess McMillan. Back page is 'What would Michèle Lamy do?' The Seoul reprint is interesting content for UK Vogue, but it's shoved at the back of the issue. Adut is a doll in her shoot, which has a tiny bit of Testino glow about it. But none of it - ads or content - would have made this an automatic purchase on the newsstand, and I can't see myself keeping my subscription copy around for longer than a month - but I will see if I enjoy the magazine more in print.

My online copy is listing 320 pgs, while the print one is 296 pgs, probably some digital-only advertising.

Unless it was just an issue of timing, I still wonder why the tribute turned up on Vogue Italia, because it's not a magazine I would have associated with her, not as much as many other names. Vogue Germany might make more sense, but it seems to have become the ultimate afterthought of the Euro Vogues, and has yet to remind us it even still exists. March issue any moment now?

Yeah, but her iconic covers were all British. Bad move from Edward. I don't remember if Stella was ignored as well at the time of her passing.

A very brief flick through today indicated to me that this was probably their worst March issue yet; and the big Spring/Autumn fashion issues have never been Edward's forte. I love Sims, but that editorial was truly lame; especially compared to his WSJ edit (but I guess Ben Bruno is no Templer. He's the perfect contributer for Edward's Vogue; inconsistent just like the EIC himself!). And no other independently created content besides the cover feature. Worrying. Rih's interview seemed to be the most interesting thing in all the pages of nothingness.
