The ed is not bad at all, I'd say Steven as a photographer is at his best here, but the styling and make up are hideous. This also seems partially inspired by his story with Carolyn, Erin and Danielle for VI 1998, but clothes are clearly not as strong and graphical, and too smiley, I seriously begin to despise this "everybody is smiling, all natural, nonchalant, feel-good" editorials that literally everybody is doing.
This is probably why Kristen's story is the strongest one here for me - it delivers what I think of true high fashion: power, luxury, strength, sex. She is a woman, who is about business and her personality, she has no time for bulls*it, pretentious smiles all the time and fake laughter, and that is why she is enjoying gin and theatre.
I wish we went back to darker glamour, I don't know why, but it seems that all the most iconic editorials seem to have some sinister quality to them. Also probably why Steven Klein is such a rare sight to see these days - imagine all the snowflakes on Twitter reacting to a story, where Brangelina point guns at each other for W Magazine.
