Annie and Ethan eds are the best things about this issue. Adut & Imaan are such gems of this model generation. Ethan is doing his best Avedon by Steven Meisel. Maybe next time he should just go straight to the source.

It's seem like every publications nowadays have this type of Jurgen Teller aesthetic editorial inside their magazines. Since Anna doesn't like to use Jurgen, Nigel is her go to for this type of ed. And it doesn't help with a model that have limited skills like Lila.

Stefan and Camilla delivered with their ed. It's "practical" but it doesn't have any "magic". Casting photos at best.

While it may not be a *great* issue, it’s easily the best American Vogue issue in a long time. Even the Lila editorial is far, far more interesting than the “at home” features we’ve seen over and over. I’ve already spent more time with my copy than I did the past couple issues combined.

Less Nigel Shafran, please. Why are they so obsessed with him? His work for this magazine is literally the worst.
I like the EJG edit. He's overly referential, but at least he understands what fashion (and Vogue) needs.
Great issue overall and while it's better than their recent issues this shouldn't be the standard.

Thanks for posting, Aracic! :flower:

I mean, considering this magazine didn't even bother to include any decent content for what feels like an eternity, I feel compelled to write something nice about the couture edit (the lack of which I whined about last month) : there are three nice shots and they did what they could with those awful couture collections! Cheers!

The photoshopping on that Practical Magic thing is so weird, that plus the stiff posing makes the subjects look like wax figures.

Nigel Shafran not even bothering to properly light Lila's face is just...I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I can almost hear Avedon chuckling from heaven.

The cover story & the Adut & Imaan's editorial are the only decent content on this issue, the rest are bland & boring. I know than Grace Coddington left US Vogue for exibit her imaginary world for make a bunch of eternal fashion editorials of this magazine.

The absolute saving grace of this entire issue is Ethan James Green's story with Adut Akech and Imaan Hammam! There's some stunning imagery there - like the solo shot of Adut in the green Alexander McQueen and the shot of Iman in the backless Schiaparelli.

I'm even fully appreciative of Stefan Ruiz's story because it takes me back to those countless studio stories from from the magazine's heyday by David Sims! It feels odd to rave over the presence of actual fashion content inside a fashion magazine, but American Vogue has been devoid of classic old-school glamour for what feels like decades. This is exactly what I want from Anna Wintour.

After a few months of moaning about American Vogue's covers and content, I can wholeheartedly admit that I didn't mind parting with £8.50 for a copy of this issue. It's the most satisfying in months, with Ethan James Green's story coming across even better in print and Stefan Ruiz's feeling like a breath of fresh air after the dismal and bleak story with Lila Moss.

The two covers appear to have been exported here to England (as seen on Newsstand's website) but I was only able to get the cover with the green masthead in WHSmith over the weekend.
