US Vogue October 2018 : Lady Gaga by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin

Although the background is really boring, it works. Gaga looks absolutely gorgeous.

OMG! She looks horrible. What were they thinking?

Well, I like the backdrop, I guess! It's just way too neutral, light hair, light skin, light wall. And that pout? Just no!
Between Germanotta, Stormy and Karlie, this looks like an issue to avoid like the plague.

Love how she made a career out of her gaudy need for her looks to be different yet she evolved into one of the most generic pop icons ever!

Her facial expression looks odd. It looks like she was caught mid-sentence.

The hair is clockable. That's a wig, Maury!

What I love about this is that she looks beautiful in this natural look. Though there's something about the right eye that bothers me.

Nonetheless, I like it. A 6.5/10

YIKES! This is all kinds of bad to me: one of the worst US Vogue covers I have seen in a while. I was expecting so much better from Gaga by I&V! Everything looks too light and Gaga look either sick or very sleepy. How on earth could they go for this shot as the cover? It's simply not appealing. Also her head looks way too big because of the leaning towards pose.
BTW, she's wearing Brandon Maxwell. How predictable.. probably one of the most overrated designers at the moment.

I’m all for Gaga and this image could have been okay, but she looks slightly sleepy? I’m not sure. It just doesn’t all work as a whole for me.

Beautiful! She does look a bit sleepy but I love the pose and the background is really fresh.

Some other shots...

Of course she would. It was probably her idea. His career was after all jump-started by her.
Anyway, just came from his SS 2019 thread and it's the most generic, lifeless collection of the lot. So yes, overrated is a perfect phrase.

What an unfortunate angle...

Love the pink masthead tho

I saw a different cover, where she looked way better, especially in the face, but i guess it didn't go pass the test market research, or just Wintour not liking it, sigh. Like how can you not use the best shot of your cover subject, her face expression here is off!

They certainly had worse covers this year, though.

It was her choice, and once again Wintour gave a cover star tons of control, you know it's not Anna's idea to have a black dress on the cover, ever! But Gaga wanted his dress in the cover shot. US Vogue is such a joke now, smh!
