US Vogue October 2018 : Lady Gaga by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin

I get why the replies in the Cover rumor thread were removed but I think we should be allowed to discuss Stormy Daniels’ feature freely in this thread. It is part of the issue and we have every right to talk about it, not just the cover. Interesting points were made about Vogue’s positioning, what it represents and whether it should feature p*rn stars or not. That is the kind of in-depth talk I come here for; I can read praise or negative comments about Gaga’s black dress and lackluster editorial on Instagram. It’s a shame how neutered this forum has become and no one is even being out of line.

I don't mind abiding by the rules - I just need to know what ALL the rules are.

I'm aware of the rules regarding politics, drugs and weight. If we can't discuss magazines choosing to feature celebrities in relation to their sex life or the p*rn industry, just say so, and I'll happily skip on to another subject.

I wasn't aware it was the type of content we couldn't discuss.

Gaga for October was so predictable, but I had hopes.
I still dont know what to do with this "normal Gaga". Util now it has been boring AF (the only exception was that pink Valentino dress that she wore at her film premiere. It was a GREAT red carpet moment). This cover is another motive.
Is not just that the cover is bad, its the fact that IDK whats is her deal now, so "confusing" is another word that comes to my mind when I see this cover.

The cover is horrible, should have done a wider shot. She doesn't have great features to warrant a close up, she has huge eyelids.

Love the direction they went with this. She looks beautiful on the cover, I love her expression. The spread is great too even though I'd love if there were more shots.

The bold brows with minimal eye makeup isn’t working for her.

Another crap cover from US Vogue. What’s new -_-

^A rather short and uninspired story (although Amanda look radiant in that first shot) but I'll take it over Josh Ollins trying his best to recreate that grunge edit Meisel once did, Hawkesworth's feels like it belongs in this magazine. Paul Wetherel (I'll pretent that I knew who he was) trying to fill Demarchelier's shoes is just miserable. Stromy looking as tacky as ever in another hideous portrait by "the world's greatest fashion photographer" (people should get arrested or at the very least fined for referring to Leibovitz in that manner but I digress) and that shot of Karlie Kloss looking as frozen in the face as Nicole ca. 2009 are the cherry on top. Another issue that wouldn't serve to line a bird cage.

Every issue looks the same. Your classic actress/singer story where she simply must be laying in at least one of the shots, usually in some nature set. Then you get your classic outdoorsy country editorial with weird styling. Then some odd filler in desert they've been doing all year and it looks the same every. damn. time. Then you get some random report about some rather random people (Karlie looks almost unrecognisable but I'm happy to see her featured for her work). And then to top the cake, you get a Gigi by Demarchelier (oh wait, it's not Patrick after all!) jumping or just doing nothing at all in some awful styling. God this is bad!
