US Vogue September 2007 : Sienna Miller by Mario Testino

"Paris Je t'aime" ed is gorgeous and Sienna looks great in her ed.
The rest is kind of boring but I'm definitely buying this issue

I totally agree with you, I was thinking in that cover since June, and only to see that is going to be Sienna... She is so over... I was wondering if a model would be in that issue, it is really bad to pick up an actress for the september issue, and even worse if the actress is her!!

Today I looked through all of the pages. I had plenty of time to pay attention to detail, and I looked at all of the ads/articles/eds etc.
Other than the novelty of buying a September issue, there is nothing special about it at all! In fact I'd say it was one of the worst issues this year.
Once seeing the cover and editorials in person I realized how bland they were. The cover especially, was dull and boring, there was no "oomph" to it at all.
The editorials were SO beyond boring! I can't deicide which ed I hate more, the Raquel/Coco duo ed or the dead eyes, empty smile, jumpy ed with Caroline. The Daria one was a waste of her face and talent, and the only editorial worth the september issue was the "eco friendly" one with I believe it was Shalom.
Last years was way better
Not to mention there was were SOOO many ads in comparison to articles and eds.

I like the article on Sienna...she sounds fun to be around...

On "Access Hollywood", it said this issue weighs 4 pounds, and there are 611 ads.

Paris J'taime is a great editorial. But it is 10-15 pages long and...this mag is huge. Overall, I'm getting the same stale feeling of the American Vogues of 1984-85.

I cannot believe that there is yet another editorial of Caroline Trentini jumping, hunching over and making kooky faces. can they not think of any other concept?

Caroline and Raquel in particular are not well suited for the jumping and looking weird eds.

Uh it's still not in Canada yet:doh:

I know, it's irritating! How come places across the atlantic like Hong Kong has it and Canada still hasn't?! Hopefully we will get it this monday. Do you know if there are specific days when magazines are released? (Just like how music records are always Tuesdays in Canada... or was it Thursday? :P)

^ Noo I have no idea at all, I just look for magz them whenever I get a chance to go to the book store or at the mall..
& my theory that it comes earlier in like Hong Kong is that they send it early in case it takes longer to get there with all the shipping and all..lol i don't know..But it should be here soon..

I wonder what do they do with all the copies from the magazines that are left from previous months?

I thumbed through it this issue was mediocre bordering bland. The Steven Meisel photos in Paris were good but other shoots were boring or unforgettable. To be honest I blame the photographers, and Anna for approving such mediocrity, the models don't "project" beauty like they use to, the magazine is totally conservative, it can't shock anymore.

^ I considered taking out of CVS today my exercise.

I think they could have given Sienna a better concept for her editorial... it was a bit undercooked if you ask me. But the article itself was, for the most part, very good- despite the incessent 'hipster' descriptions (constant cigarettes, listening to the stones, wearing tight pants, etc), the article put Sienna in a more grown up light.

^lucky!

I used to think that perhaps they let the employees take it home, but I think the bookstore sends it back to the original publisher. That way, bookstores get the money back for the stuff they don't sell, since it's not the store's fault if a certain magazine is unpopular. Ok, this is just my theory and could all be wrong. But this is what drugstores do with expired drugs that no one buys. So perhaps "expired" magazines get dealt in the same way. :P

In the US they tear the covers off & send them back for some type of credit from the publisher & then recycle or whatever with the rest.
