Vogue posted another video where models who embrace cover speak about their experiences in the industryu like sexual harassment, being push to do something for a job, controling what they eat, racism, representation.

I’ve never noticed how filled and taunt Bella’s face is until the angle of this video omg

It’s an interesting concept. It’s definitely something I could see in Franca’s Vogue Italia. I would have loved to see what Meisel could have done with this.
Thought the same. The difference is that the 97% Meisel cover girls for VI never smiled, and they look straight to the photographer doing an extravagant and glamorous pose. EJG is the photographer that is doing the Meisel work at this moment, just like Alasdair replacing Bruce Weber. Thank God nobody is copying Lindbergh.
You can spot the Meisel inspiration here. Reminds me of to VI February 2015 mixed with January 2007.

Luckily, not here! She's the last thing that already atrocious cover needs.

Also, the cover works much better as a digital video. In print, the composition is simply too terrible. How did they not see that the still image simply doesn't work as a cover? I'm so confused.
I agree with you

I guess the deal with advertisers now is they all still pay to appear on the different editions of Vogue but Anna will ensure that they will have a decent coverage with some full look and with a sense of beauty and luxury. She is the gatekeeper of CN's money.

They let some people (umm Farneti) do his thing and god I am sure some brands were really not happy (Vuitton, Armani, Chanel, and so on).

Edit: @Bertrando3 agreed but to please to the most it is required to strip off anything that will make the ed singular. So go for a "Benetton" casting with a white backdrop.

Exactly and that's why I am both laughing and getting mad ahahaah, I mean NONE OF US could have thought we would see this type of ''montage'' in a US Vogue issue and nonetheless shared with all the Vogue internationally. Such a downgrade from what used to be considered the Bible of Fashion. 2007 where are you??? :yuk:

LOL, that was literally the first thing I said when I heard of the globalisation model. All the brands shown in that edit will have to commit to advertising in all the editions because it's very rare to shoot looks that are not available in your own country. My question is.....what about Australia? They're one season behind. And Edwina is big on sustainability so it wouldn't make sense for her to encourage shopping outside seasons.

This globalisation thing is going to be a problem because aesthetically that edit is out of place in American Vogue right now. British Vogue too. It's more Vogue Japan/Germany.

Cover Looks
From left: Kaia Gerber wears Tom Ford. Anok Yai wears Ralph Lauren Collection. Precious Lee wears Carolina Herrera. Bella Hadid wears Christopher John Rogers. Sherry Shi wears Proenza Schouler. Ariel Nicholson wears Christopher John Rogers. Yumi Nu wears Mara Hoffman. Lola Leon wears Michael Kors Collection.

Two looks for Christopher John Rogers, and I've never heard of Mara Hoffman yet not a single look from Ekaus Latta?!?

I hate global sharing content. Last September they use "creativity" as the global theme. Then this September, "Vogue's New Beginning" is to sharing same editorials, which is so IRONIC!

I don’t love it but I don’t hate it…It’s surely one « controversial » Vogue cover.
I think Meisel concepts only works with Meisel…It would be quite funny if the September issue of UK Vogue is models by Meisel wearing European brands…

It’s a joyful cover but they don’t look their best. More interested in the politics behind it than the actual result.

At least, it’s about the clothes this time…

Looking at the video posted above, the casting is definitely politically driven. Every girl except Kaia has a story to tell and some even offer thought-through advice. There's substance and personality to them. And that's the very reason why Rianne van Rompaey wouldn't make the cut for such a cover. These models represent a new breed of models who are not just voiceless mannequins. I suppose it's actually clever on Vogue's part, trite cover aside.

That vid is too short. Should be longer, should be a full documentary.
