I mentioned in the Cover Rumor thread that when I saw the editorial on vogue.com - with the blue skies and dusty landscapes, the cover story looks like it's the reincarnation of Glenda Bailey's Bazaar.

They always FAIL when they're too pretentious on their cover photo choices. This looks like a still from a commercial.

That's not a bad cover. Lovely colors. I do wish she was looking at the camera though. I just can't fully appreciate a cover (usually) where the subject is looking away.

I wish she was looking at the camera, and I don’t understand her as a cover choice, but overall I like it. It’s very easy summer and I appreciate that.

The editorial is good! Almost great, but not quite there. I love Mikael’s work though and happy to see him shooting for US Vogue again, I wish he had become their staple after they stopped working with Testino but they don’t use him often enough. In fact, this scratches a little bit of that Testino x US Vogue itch but it doesn’t quite live up to that magic.

The expression and angle on the cover are horrible, the photo of her hanging really reminds me of what Camilla Akrans did with Glenda in Harper's Bazaar. In any case, it will be another random cover and we will have to wait for the next one to see if we will have something good!

I see the connection. However, I will take the blue skies over grey ones anyday.

rather disappointing cover, mikeal Jansoon usually makes great covers but here the problem I think is Hailey Bieber, she's not a model, she doesn't know how to pose, she doesn't know how to model and I don't understand all this interest, the editorial photos are very beautiful (also thanks to the stylist Tonne Goodman)!
