i am slightly disappointed to admit this is a huge recession to the last incredible one, every piece is pretending to be sexy and alluring, but the cruel fact is not that good as our imagination, sad^

OMFG OMFG what the hell happened? Donatella was on such a roll the past couple of seasons but this?!?! i mean don't get me wrong it's a gorgeous collection but it seems soooo.....safe. so blah. where as her ss09 collection was memorable and just BEAUTIFUL, this just seems like a collection i'll forget by the end of the season. also....i HATE the runway. it looks somewhat cheap. the circle runway was soo glamorous. i actually had high hopes for this collection.....ugh

This is a disappointment to me too. I'm actually surprised more people aren't saying it. Of course a lot of it is beautiful, but it's REALLY lacking in some of the phenomenal direction she's had in the last few collections. I wasn't a huge Versace fan for years but in the last couple of years I've been pretty astounded by what she's capable of. This just feels like a step back.

donatella had really refined the versace woman the last few collections, and this is a huge step backwards...

I'm really disappointed. So much of this looks like the super simple, super commercial stuff that you find mixed into the racks with the runway stuff.

But besides that, there's no message in this, no idea behind it....it's just a random assortment of Versace staples that have looked better in past collections. I mean, last season was so focused, and so ahead of the curve in terms of the whole 3-D trend that emerged. This has nothing, it's just some semi-pretty clothes shown in the same runway show. Even the color palette is disjointed. And given how elegant and cool the mens collection was, I was hoping this would be in a similar vein.

Overall it looks not so much like a Versace collection, but a collection by a designer trying to be Versace.

Agreed. This is such a disappointment considering where the house seemed to be going these past two seasons (something artier, more structured and graphic). This looks exactly like F/W 06.07... liquid jersey draped dresses, bright coats and skinny pants. It's just an overall substantial step backward. I'd much rather have the lacey gowns with hip-high slits and neon spangled chiffon of 1998-2005 than any of this. And considering that everyone is referencing old, sexy Versace I was expecting so much more.

Not to mention the hair, makeup and lighting do no favors for the models or that liquid jersey fabric.

^ FW06 was a much harsher version of this collection, but I understand your comparison. While I do find this collection sorta confusing I still love it, it still carries the key factors that Versace has always stood for.

Well, I don't think it's fair to compare this collection to FW 06, since I thought that was really the first step Donatella took as she steered the brand into more sophisticated territory. FW 06 was sharp, well tailored, glam, urban and very sexy but never trashy or too Miami.

This collection is just a sad step backwards. Like Spike mentioned...nothing is said with this collection. It's just clothes.

I can't expect Donatella (or any designer, for that matter) to crank out steller collections season in and season out, but even if this was meant to be a below average collection, I at least thought it would have a hint of sophistication leftover from the last 6 seasons. I guess not.

At first I'm very waitin' for Versace Show!!

The backgroud the stage hair and make up make the dress drop. so 80's
I hate to said that! I very so in love with aterier Versace last season but this collection is too vamp and so commercial

I have to change my opinion It's cool and very semi-couture!! the detail and the cuting is very sharp I see a lot of the new technique on the daywear and the beutifull dress.
so many time that I'm pree-judge by just see pictures It's not cool at all.
i have to said the pics of this collection from catwalking is very bad. Model look olds and not fresh but it's not the same on video!!
the show almost to perfect I see a litle bit from backstage it very fresh and i can't wait to see the pics from us.fashionmag.com I think pics from this site are beauty and fresh more than catwalking!!

I think the colors and the background is what dissapointed me because it reminds me of Versace back in the early 2000s which wasn't my favorite time in their history.

I'm so happy to see those looks without the background!
and I still upset about Hair and makeup it's make trouble me even the dress is very beautifull!!
Blame it on the presentation!!
I still like it but this season Prada is the best show in Milan (In my opinion)

I´m in Love. This is amazing collection.
There´s everything in it, It´s simple, it´s extravagant, it´s rich, it´s luxurious.
Every gown is a piece of art. It suits the womans body to perfection.
This collection describes for me how woman should look like.
Perfection isn´t enough.
I looooove it.

I loved the zippered hearts details last season, and i also liked what she did this season with Isabeli's and Georgina's dress - the metal pieces holding parts of the dress together.

On the entire collection, though, it's a little uncohesive. I just think that last season was perfect and it's hard for her to really top that.
