Versace for H&M

love the bustier. Shame about that adorable bag being the heart print cuz i love the colors and the shape -- i still may get it, i think it's adorable.

Also into the shirt with the tiny studs, too cute.
what bustier? am i missing something?

thanks i missed that! i want that too! hope it comes in other colors. i think the satin material would snag easily!

That black men's tuxedo jacket is exactly what I was waiting for from this collection, I think that'll be the piece I buy here.

Are they sure it's going to sell?

i´m sure it´s going to sell.
people who know not much about fashion but know the name "versace" will buy it. it´s like "oh wow, i am so into fashion, i am going to buy some versace stuff .. at H&M". you know what I mean?

OMG this heart print is ruining things for me! I love the fringe detail on the dress but seeing that it's that damn heart print, I gotta walk away!

I've had H&M shoes before and they're perfectly okay really. I had some of the men's sneakers Viktor & Rolf did which are still fine now, but then I also had a pair of the plimsoles CDG did and they were destroyed within a few wears.

I guess I'll just have to make a split second decision when I see them in person.

i love how detailed that swiss magazine is

palm print cashmere pullover for men. i mean, seriously.

sneakers are goatskin. which would be 'WHOA' but those buckles ruin them for me.

lots of silks for ladies, but the prices surely reflect that.

i'm jealous that the swiss can win pre-sales for this! can someone find out if all European countries will have one too?

There's not even a preview evening in conjunction with Vogue & GQ in London like there has been previously, where you were able to purchase the collection prior to its launch in relative calm, that is if you were one of the lucky few who got your hands on an invite.

Nope. Jimmy Choo was the last collection to get the big pre-launch party.

The press launch isn't even until the 10th of November for Versace.

Some of the multi-colored printed stuff reminds me from old Deee-lite videos.

Can look tacky, but also very optimistic, I need that (I don't like the current Celine style, it's very blah to me, very humorless). :)

another presale : if you live in NYC and spend 200$ on H&M stuff tomorrow, you get a ticket for the preview (ny thrillist)

Join Thrillist and H&M to celebrate the revamp of the Herald Square store. Shoppers will enjoy a D.J., snacks and cocktails, and fashion consultations with stylists, plus discounts on all purchases. The first 100 guests to spend over $200 will receive tickets to the Versace for H&M pre-launch on November 18. H&M Herald Square, 435 Seventh Ave., nr. 34th St. (212-643-6955); 7-10.

The more I see, the more I have to say, I really don't care for the collection at all.

To me, vintage-style Versace involved people paying a lot of money to look really vulgar, but in an unmistakably expensive way. There was an art to it, that game of playing with those different levels of taste, and expressing them all in the end design.

This range - and I would say, unsurprisingly so - is a cavalcade of tat with the Versace logo attached, reproducing some classic motifs but with little consideration of how to properly balance cheapness with expensive touches, culminating in stuff like cushions that wouldn't be fit for an incontinent cat to sit on, and items that will inevitably disappoint in the light of day because they're simply overpriced for what they are, both in terms of materials and thought.

If people can find a few pieces in that collection at a reasonable cost, which provide them with a few months of fun before they start to fall apart, then I think they're making the most of it. But despite the excitement, 'affordable Versace' might not amount to something worth paying money for, no matter how wonderful the idea is.

^The part about the cushions and incontinent cats had me laughing out loud  I do agree with you, though!
