VMan F/W 2021.22 : Lil Nas X by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin

I’m not sure I like the styling, but at least it’s something new. I love him, so I’ll be picking this up for sure. Anything to promote the Gay Agenda!

Definitely a nod to Prince. Nice cover.

Not a fan of his music but I do like him and his unapologetic approach.

I see Jimi Hendrix here.

In general, despite enjoying his music for the most part, I find Lil Nas X to be a little grating at times. That said, this cover is a definite YES from me, he looks interesting and the photography and styling are top notch (no surprise with Mr Cortina involved). Curious to see more.

I also see Jimi Hendrix, lol.

As for the styling, will wait to see the full set before I pass judgment. It's Cortina. The rest of the shoot may well be Lil Nas X in a white tee and denim. It's what Cortina calls styling (scamming!) nowadays.

I'm indifferent towards Lil Nas X, but it's always comical to see people react with so much dislike and hate for everything he does/post.

The styling and shot are a big yes for me!

I thought Hendrix at first too, but the flowers also reminded me of Marsha P. Johnson.

I think the cover portrait is great. He actually looks sexy, and I never think that way about him.
The Jimi Hendrix drag, is pulled straight from the lazy white stylists grab bag of looks for black people, but I'll take this.

It's hilarious how "bothered" (read: obsessed) all the closet cases are by this man. I saw that his Industry Baby song as well as the Call Me By Your Name song are literally the top songs in Saudi Arabia on spotify. Fitting, if you are as convinced as I am that there is nowhere on earth with a higher population density of gays-in-denial than Riyadh (and likely the rest of the country, too)..

Damn Ben, I spoke too soon regarding the styling:lol:. I saw the ed on Instagram and while Lil Nas X looks great (agree with others that say he looks quite hot here), the styling by Cortina is not really to my liking. It's very 'sexy Jimi Hendrix Halloween costume' and looks kind of goofy to me.

The photography's fine, what you'd expect from I&V in VMan. Not bad, but definitely not great. I'm underwhelmed but, oh well, what else is new?

he looks GREAT!
what a treat to pose as Hendrix who was soooo cool! an icon!

He is not attractive. His whole vibe is very trashy.

Our culture now is just all about promoting sl*tty and vulgar behavior and calling it revolutionary. And then when anyone complains, you’re just a prude? Or something worse? There’s really no boundary that someone like him is pushing other than the limit of taste. And that line has been crossed so long ago.

^^^He looks like a mini Denis Rodman. Thank goodness I didn’t have to suffer seeing his mug plastered all over fashions rags growing up in the 90s.

Just in case some are still unaware: Homosexuality is tried and punishable as a capital crime in Saudi Arabia. Being closeted isn’t only exactly blameable on whatever “toxic masculinity” that the progressive-types want to use as the always reliable scapegoat. It’s very much engrained in the region’s cultural upbringing and familial identity that may very well be inescapable for many gay men and women. Being closeted comes down to simply survival.

(BTW, the poor oppressed gayz that only have this Nas X person as an outlet for some brief moment of sexual freedom: The kernel of tackiness and gaudiness of rubbish gaydom at its very root LOL)

^ Oh thanks, I'm sure many here were unaware.
