Sorry, no cover as yet, but the information comes from the super reliable
Girl With a Satchel:
Winning a Vogue cover is no mean feat for
your average celebrity, but after giving actress Abbie Cornish the sartorial nod for her appearance at Cannes Film Festival wearing a Toni Maticevski gown back in June, Vogue Australia's Kirstie Clements has given her the December cover (out Wednesday) shot by Max Doyle.

And also news.com.au:
Her profile has been further boosted by Vogue Australia, which features Cornish on its December cover, modelling the latest Dior couture. English newspaper The Observer has dubbed her "Australia's best acting export". "I don't ever think about things like that," Cornish says in the Vogue article.
"For Jane, she was so successful with The Piano. I feel the buzz is more about her as a director and the way she makes films."

For those unfamiliar with Abbie, she's an Australian actress, most well known for Somersault and Candy, who is creating alot of Oscar buzz for her performance in Bright Star.

Can't wait too! So she's a celeb!?

Yes, but definitely not the definition of a 'celebrity' by the current standard.
She's a truly amazing actress, one of my favourites, actually.

Kirstie Clements (Vogue Aus editor) is quite anti-celeb covers, so it takes something special for her to put one on a cover.
This is what she said in an interview earlier this year:
Celebrity did get over-saturated and it seemed a little tired to me.
Celebrities won't go on the fashion journey with you in the magazine like a model will. They may come with their own stylist, their own sponsor and their own requests as to what they will wear. The creative input into that then becomes minimal despite our costs being huge. Unless the celebrity is prepared to go on the journey with you – and there are great ones, like Cate Blanchett – and are buying into your concept and working with you on it, you are better to use a model. Australian readers do like Australian talent... It just doesn't make sense to whack someone like Cameron Diaz on our cover, which I don't think would do anything more than a fantastic Australian model.

I will never forget her performance in Candy...she was absolutely brilliant. i'm looking forward to seeing her cover. i believe she's a true Australian talent we can be proud of.

I don't know her. :ninja: Can't wait to see the cover though. :flower:

I think Vogue Australia is coming into its own. This year, they've got quite a few covers that they've made themselves, instead of reprints. At the back of my mind, the only ones that are reprints were Feb(Daria), April(Anne S), June(Edita) and Oct(Anne S). The rest are all their own...

And thank god their reprints are all models and not celebs.

Wow, so she's the actress from Bright Star :o
Oh my god, I'm so looking forward to this !

Cat must be for January, then.

Looking forward to the cover. Good to see it isn't a reprint. I kinda like Abbie. She's going out with Ryan Phillipe (sp?), isn't she?^_^

Lucky b*tch.

To be honest after reading 'Dior Couture' I was expecting something really editorial and striking, BUT this shot is so beautiful and natural - alot more 'Abbie' which is probably the main thing! I love it.
The colours are stunning.

Subscribers should start receiving the issue today, if not, we'll definitely have a review by tomorrow!

Oh she looks so, so good! it's nothing new, really, but it's so pretty that it doesn't matter ! To be honest i prefer this to something more editorial as well.. I think it suits Abbie and suits Australian vogue... we are, after all, pretty laid back.. ^_^

 it's so pretty and summer-y. A perfect December cover for the southern hemisphere.

very sweet and summery. surprisingly, I like it. i do think she is deserving of a cover as an up-and-coming talented actress.

i like the cover. ^_^ it's so soft and pretty. the colors are gorgeous and i think that's what makes the cover a good one and pleasing to the eye. not to mention she looks good too. :)

She looks lovely. She's a beautiful girl. Bit too much pink going on on the cover for me however! But then it could be much worse. This would be a neon pink nightmare in British Vogue's hands I'm sure.
