Vogue Hommes S/S 2017 by Mario Testino

Very early-2000 Mario.

Not a fan of the heavy contrast that's a tad illustration-looking, but it's nice to see classic sex appeal back on a cover of a magazine.

Thanks Scotty.

tragic cover, don‘t know other guys except kit.

What happens with Kit retouch? He is always amazing but not here...

I don't understand the model choices either, very random.

Kit is a star. The cover should have been his alone, minus the heavy retouch.
The other guys are a bunch of random nobodies, that add nothing tbh.

the casting is uninspired, and im tired of seeing just all-white casted mens covers.

I’d gladly take gorgeous random nobodies anytime, anyday to superstar models. And to give them a cover is the brand of generosity that’s missing in fashion these days. Of course, the over processed cover isn’t doing anyone any favors— and actually looks cheap.

Nothing would be missed if I never saw Sean Opry and David Gandy ever again in any fashion publication and campaign. Bring on the new beautiful nobodies...

Why take "gorgeous random nobody" models, when usually they are hardly heard from again. If anything in male modeling overall, nobody seems that interested in star-making anymore. This cover would have been everything if it featured new IT boys like Kit, Jonas Gloer, Julian Schneyder, Mitchell Slaggert, etc. Looking at the cover though, they don't really fit the theme, but kudos to Kit.

Looks cheap and not up to date

Hopefully he won't use this ugly filter for his upcoming Dutch Vogue cover

^Julian, Mitchell would have killed this. I'm deeply troubled by the way it looks like they were copy and pasted to fit the picture. The two guys on the right look seriously superimposed. Look at how perfectly cropped the hair is. And the rightmost guy.. look at the innermost arm, no shadow at all.

Don't even know which one is Kit... The only one of the group that doesn't fit the image is the guy in glasses. The two South American guys fit Mario's classic aesthetic very well.

I don't care for star-making nor supermodels. Names don't impress me. I've always been more interested in Bruce's approach to casting: Selecting gorgeous men from all walks of life--- whether they're students, athletes, cowboys... Most of them will never be heard from again. But so what? They are forever immortalized for that one moment, one shot in a fashion magazine, at the height of their beauty. And we move on to the next new discoveries.

MON, you're right-- it does look like a copy-and-paste job.

I suspect that's why the contrast and saturation filters are turned up so high to such an artificial texture. Poorly skilled post-production people will use those filters to hide the inconsistent and varying tonal lighting of multiple files to even out the final image.

I was half expecting it to say "bang" instead of "rules"

A very forgettable cover with a bunch of nobodies, I know 4 of them but they are SO random, they don´t go hand in hand, they are at different stages in their careers. They will be forgotten though. This cover does nothing, from the styling, to the photo, to the retouching = it´s very POOR. Next!

i soo funny read people comment the cover are with 4 nobodies  here are a lot of nobodies and no have a cover of Vogue

So you called them nobodies yet you know for them.

Exactly this! I don't understand the audacity to call people nobodies that are on the cover of Vogue Hommes. Three of these guys are very popular on social medias and tumblr blogs. Arguably often times someone that lands on the cover isn't known worldwide but they get attention by the help of it. Not everyone knew Jegor (last issue cover guy)

Before labeling the models and their accomplishments, please research. Both Jonathan Bellini and Pablo Morais are more popular than Kit Butler.

Exactly it is very contradictory and it is true Pablo Morais Is more famous than kit ,he is an actor to.
