Vogue Italia May 2017 : Anna Ewers & David Friend by Mario Sorrenti

I get so many VP vibes from those last 3 eds.
It's almost disturbing...

The beauty ed feels like a beauty reject from Vogue Paris! My goodness.

I get that he's trying this subdued version of Franca's VI, but comeon, he can do better

I think Julian Schneyder would have been perfect for that cover with Anna

It's really odd how Comte's past two editorials surpassed even the cover features! I'd gladly have taken one of his moody beach shots of Emily for this cover, especially considering it's a summer cover. Hope he'll get his cover soon.

The roster of photographers have the same style. It feels like it's a special issue by one photographer. Or guest edited by someone. Meh.

Quite right, there's very little variety in this issue. I may have loathed what Franca put out at times, but her features never looked identical next to one another. What we are seeing here is really poor editing, but what can you expect from a former GQ editor!

And while I'm big on Ben Hassett, but he should really have pushed the creativity a bit more for that beauty story. It's much too safe for this edition.

Why isn't Comte's editorial in the digital edition?

I see on newsstand.co.uk that import copies come with the beauty and wedding supplements - but neither came with the ones that turned up in my store. Without the plastic wrapping, at least I got to flick through the issue, but I wasn't impressed. It seemed empty, lacking in impact or substance. All round, there was no real point in purchasing it.

Another one from the beauty supplement

^Gorgeous editorial!

The kind of editorial you used to see in fashion 15 years ago! Some production value! Some glamour! Some beauty! Some story telling!

Agreed!! Easily one of their best edits in a while. I'm a huge geishaphile, so really hoping the supplement will be shipped to the UK!

Last month, mine came wrapped with the supplements but this month - nothing! :judge:
