Why Do All The Models Smoke?

Shouldn't we get back to talking about models smoking here? :flower:
I think that the issue itself is just too large and controversial to go over in this forum.
This topic is getting out of hands here, guys...

I've learned a very important lesson here today...

Smoking Phillip Morris' cigarettes helps fight globalization.

Ok back on the topic of models. :innocent:

Kissing a smoker isn't much fun either. :yuk:
As my grandmother used to say (in her very soft Southern/Virginian accent), "Kissing a boy who smokes is like eating ice cream out of an ash tray."

 that woman... [/b][/quote]
 Grandmothers are full of wisdom.

Who are we to judge?

Let them smoke if they want.

"why do models smoke?" is almost as insensitive as "why are all models anorexic"

You're generalizing, and that sucks.
i actually agree with you on that one.

i can't believe i just noticed the insensitivity now, saying "all" models smoke.

I reckon the excuses people have are very poor excuses, but then again it's their life not mine, just don't smoke anywhere near me.

I agree fully with you. :flower: If other people smoke, fine, that's your body and it's none of my business.

At the same time, I think it's disrespectful to say that smoking is not a very big deal when I don't have any grandparents left as of the age of eight due to smoking and second-hand smoke. Yes, there's plenty of horrible things people can do. SUV's gas-guzzle and destroy the Earth. We wear clothes made by poor children in third-world countries. We eat fast food and let our country become obese. To ignore any of these problems is to be inconsiderate of the people that share the planet with you. I think it's important to put all things in moderation and be aware of everyone's interests. Not to say smokers are bad people at all, but if someone blew smoke in MY face, threw a empty carton of cigarattes on the street, or left their butts all over the place, I'd would most certainly have a negative view about them. I tend to like people who are aware of everyone's feelings and I think that the connotation that "smokers are bad people" could dervive from the behaviors above.

The attitude of the collective persons that have the habit control how it is viewed and that's how most people will see them as. Maybe they should be called generalizations but they have to come from somewhere, right?

Now, back to models smoking!

Secondly, for the people who worry about second hand smoke. I recomend you tell the world to stop burning fossil fuel, making fast food, wasting gas, making unneccessary pills, burning forrests, tearing down forrests and jungles then you can talk to me about my second hand smoke.
No offense but this argument sucked.

sometimes its just part of the countrys usual acts, i should say (unless i want to get yelled at) because for example in spain and russia.....

those models were on something and its not only idiocity... i social smoke because a drink n cig is the life... nothing beats it... but i find it helps curb food cravings n it does give me something else to do when i'm bored...

Some of you wonder why someone would question why many models smoke. Perhaps because their job requires them to look good and look young. Smoking is proven to cause premature wrinkles and stain teeth. Wouldn't you think a model would keep from jeopardizing the longevity of his/her career at all costs? I certainly would; smoking while in a career that depends on outer appearance seems foolish to me.

Regarding the comments about smoking being comparable to things like general pollution and not really mattering: Granted, but why add to the bag of life-threatening components in our everyday atmosphere?
