Yohji Yamamoto

you are welcome softgrey
although my post above was a bit messy, anyway the basement food halls and customer service would be nice at any department store basically.

but what you should definitely visit is minami-aoyama district where you have flagships from CdG, miyake, sacai, undercover, jil, dries.....check chrome hearts tokyo there even if you are not so interested in the stuff, and don't forget henry cuir, after you see YY's freestanding store.
of course, there are boutiques like arts & science as well. across aoyama st, mercibeaucoup, ann, limi...
(one of why locals buy YY etc at department stores is they are usually points card holders)

oh- thank you!
sounds just great...i will be sure to visit that area...
though i may faint from all the amazingness!...
:sideways:...

i'm also looking forward to trying all kinds of food while i am there...
the food halls in london are a place to get lots of great stuff and i am sure i could spend hours just exploring these in tokyo...

thanks for explaining!

some good things to be had on the syte site...

this is such a great basic...
no bells and whistles...just a really nice piece...
had tried something similar from dries a couple of seasons back, but it was too wide in the shoulders...
not this one!!!
but - of course - japan only!
......

oh damn...i really want those jeans.:lol:
i'm kind of surprised you like them soft, i don't think i've ever seen you in blue denim? :p

the s'yte stuff looks quite good...have you handled it in person at all?
i hope it's nicer than coming soon...i thought that line was
a bit of a travesty for YY, it felt so flimsy. I guess the price point on this
is a lot higher though.

i just received this extremely beautiful dress from spring 1997.
it looks a lot like the dress below, but in solid black.
there are two small pleats in the front that overlay two pockets,
which gives a subtly aerodynamic volume to the skirt.
And a sort of placket lining in the bodice that makes the chest lie perfectly.
dead simple, but so perfect.

^dead on! i hope you wear it with some pointy toe chlesea boots, i could totally see you in that. so pretty from your description.

laika---
i don't have any other colour denim...
:p...
i don't see the point of black jeans...
i just wear black pants...
and blue jeans...

but- you're right...
it's not often i wear jeans...
i have to be at my slimmest in order to feel comfortable because i like them uber tight...

but these would be totally different...
you know?

i got a high waisted loose pair of jeans from COS in london, but they are much lighter denim and not 1/2 as cool as these are...
not nearly as voluminous...
and this shade of BLUE is so BLUE...
yummy!...

can't see the pic so well, but your new piece sounds very nice from your description!

haven't seen any of the syte stuff in person, but i was thinking that i would get a load of it sent to me while i'm over there...
we'll see what's available by then...
the prices seem to be quite reasonable...
but i think that things like pockets have to be cut out in order to meet those numbers...
...

^actually, after i typed that i remembered you buying a pair of blue jeans
with contrast stitching that were sort of charlie's angels. :p
so i guess my memory is faulty...

here is a better pic of the dress, from my friend who i bought it from.
it's a bit looser around the waist on me....

oh yeah!!!---
those are my fave jeans---mostly because the blue is similar to the YY jeans above...
i love how bright and dark it is at the same time...
and you LAUGHED at me and my charlie's angels jeans!...
:judge:......:boxer:...

that dress is v.nice...
very good for summer...can totally picture it on you...
hope you wear it often!!!

yes, i quite enjoyed those jeans on you. :D

i also have an amusing pair... high-waisted, light blue ones from last summer. They are flared at the bottom and very 70's looking,
in an Italian via L.A. (i.e., Zabriskie Point) sort of way. :p
i wore them with a tan and a tank top and they were great,
but not nearly as comfortable as those Y's ones surely are.

I'm a baggy pants kind of girl these days. ^_^

well---those do sound most entertaining......

speaking of great baggy pants...

another from the YY Regulation line...
i like the drawstring so you can wear them high or low...
so you can adjust the length...;)
and the buttons at the bottom ...
woohoo...
*i even think the tag works ...
the back pockets are also particularly good...
remind me of that YY collection with the big pockets...
whatever year that was- i don't remember...
but it's one of my faves ever...
along with the houndstooth collection...
...

Yohji---are you listening?
more houndstooth, please!!!
i want some double pleated, cuffed houndstooth wool trousers...
please!!!

:judge:......B)

the Y's jean is harem/drop crotch type of pants. of course you could wear them as "high waisted cropped jean".
but the most stable place on which they stay might be hips.

hmmm...
not what i was envisioning...
they are not quite as exciting to me anymore...
:ermm:...

maybe what i have in my head is something else...

thanks for the info runner...
good to know...
:p

hello gorgeous!

^ that is exactly the length i was envisioning for my new cdg pants.
love them!

SO voluminous though, right? especially with the pockets...

^^
yep- i'm sure your new trousers would look excellent at around this length...
and worn in this way...

the bigger the better for me right now...
i love volume...
i have certain rules about how to wear it that really work for me so i really enjoy it...

*it's hard to see, but these pants have little buttons at the bottom so you can pull them in a bit at the ankle which is one of the reasons that i think they are so great...
it's also beautiful crisp cotton summer fabric- (i saw the jacket in the same fabric)

of course- i haven't seen them in person, so it may be like the jeans where they are styled really well but then i don't like them so much after all...
but this is the item i've had my eye on since the runway show...
:p

my biggest concern would be if they are too long, shortening would involve replacing those buttons i love so much...
not impossible though...

^I hope you get to try them...I always had the impression you didn't like wide pants,
but I think these are great. Moving the button up would be no big deal, I suspect.

Look at this...:o :sideways:
