^thanks for those pics runner... i once some pictures of a Y's boutique circa 1981, the general appearance has not really changed at all. it looked great then, and it still looks great. i don't think it will ever be possible for yohji's aesthetic (his clothing or his store design) to ever be out of style or outdated.

thanks for the images runner!

if anyone knows this...runner?

where is the best place to find the biggest selection of +noir and regulation in Tokyo?
those tend to be the items which i am most attracted to in recent seasons...

TIA!
:flower:

you're welcome fashion.fashoff, softgrey

there will be a popup regulation store on the ground floor of parco shibuya this weekend.
it is going to be there until october 3.
mens and womens, complete at one place, plus exclusive styles for the shop and some fancy giveaway stuff (pics below).

as for +noir, the flagship could be the best. you can walk from that parco in shibuya to the YY in minami-aoyama, if you are in the sneakers and the weather is fine.
also there is seibu shibuya which has the YY corner store. it is much nearer the parco and the noir selection should not be very different there.

very cool, thanks runner...

OMG- i forgot all about the perfume...
that ad reminded me!
i must remember to check that...
:o

looks like the windows are featuring all the looks from that fashion show in germany...
?
i just realized that the regulation flip flops actually pop out of a square piece of foam and now i really like them...lol...
i think the black with the blue is really elegant and it's not often that you can use the word elegant in association with a rubber flip flop~!

...

you're welcome softgrey
the big window display should already be over unfortunately.

btw, if you talk to ms ashida, she is at seibu ikebukuro.

nice---
i got to smell all the perfumes...

the blue one is the new one, and that is the one i got...
it's called 'senses'...

there is a separate website now for the parfums...
with a nice video...
i saw it playing in the flagship store...
http://www.yohjiyamamotoparfums.com/

the flagship store in mini-aoyama has a really great selection...
all the lines except for Y's...
which was odd...imho...
but maybe because yohji is not designing Y's anymore himself?
i don't know...

but they also have a selection of items that are strictly for the domestic market, so not available outside of japan...
i got a couple of pieces from that, which made me happy...
a cape w. attached scarf and asymmetrical collar...
and a cashmere blazer with zip off faux fur pockets in front...
:D
the blazer is similar to something he did in a previous runway collection, but with a new twist...and maybe a bit more wearable than the runway version...
and the pockets zip off in case you want to wear it in a more traditional way...
it's pretty amazing...sort of a re-issue of a yohji classic...that is the real treasure for me on this shopping expedition...

i also got a couple pairs of cropped pants...
one with suspenders from regulation that is like a pic i posted a ways back in this thread...they are from regulation and in a lovely crepe-y, lightweight wool...
the cape is the same fabric...

i also got a pair of drop crotch pants...
:ninja:
i know i said i would never ever wear them...
but i tried them just for fun and then i fell in love...
they are not like the comme style drop crotch that almost attach your legs...
they just look sort of loose and droopy and make me look like a boy ...
and i like that, for some reason...

it might also be the fabric i like...
they are just cotton, and they come quite narrow at the bottom with a small cuff...
then there are stripes around the waist...
the waist is also very high, which always works so very well on me...
it didn't hurt that i tried them with my little YY sneakers and they just looked super cool together...
^_^...

i think i am going to wear them like crazy...

i thought i would look for some jeans in this style, but i found these instead, so i guess i am really not meant to wear jeans so much...
*shrug*...
that's fine by me...
:P

anyway- there was also a dress that i tried on...
another item done exclusively for the japanese market...
it was so lovely...
sort of like a tunic and with laser cut details all over the fabric...
very iconic and very japanese...
reminded me almost of issey, actually...
it was one of those things that you always dream of but never expect to find...
unfortunately they did not have my size 2 there in the store and by the time they were able to find it and get it to the store, i had already gone...

i should have taken a pic of it really...
my heart will not wither without it, but i will never forget it...

OT-
speaking of issey...
omg...!!!
i saw so many lovely things from issey...
with so many stores everywhere...
too many good clothes...i couldn't even choose...
i think that is partly why i just got a bag...
anyway- i always wanted a bao bao, but now that everyone has the basic style, i was happy to find something more unique when i found a big clutch...

these are the drop crotch pants i got...
unfortunately... barney's screwed up the styling completely...

the info is also wrong-
they are not blue- they are black...the striped bit at top is blue...
and they are double listed as regulation and pour homme...

anyway- i am pretty sure those are my pants...and they should just have one small roll at the bottom where they are stitched...that is what the stitching at the bottom is about...

but mine are cropped...
i love them...
:P

oh---
i almost forgot about this skirt...
it is really amazing...
it's designed to looked like an apron that has been folded down and pushed askew...
it's no secret how much i love aprons...
i bought three of them while in tokyo...
...
but the store i was in did not have my size in this skirt, so i had to skip it...
really an excellent and outstanding design though...
something very very special, imho...
http://www.43hostem.co.uk/shopping/women/yohji-yamamoto-apron-style-skirt-item-10511156.aspx

i may be sorry that i let it go...
but i thought that it would become complicated trying to find the right top to wear with it...
:ermm:...
i really love it though...
:)

Adidas unveils Yohji Yamamoto adizero F50, lion-dog boots of Gyasi Zardes, Jonny Steele

October 25, 2013

adidas%20wild%202.jpg

adidas

There's wild soccer boots, and then there's the boots that Gyasi Zardes and Jonny Steele will be wearing this weekend.

Designed by award-winning Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto, the brand-new, limited-edition Yohji Yamamoto adizero F50 was released by adidas on Friday.

According to adidas, the front of the boots display a pair of imperial lion-dogs who, in ancient times, guarded the emperors of Japan. The traditional design has been placed in the context of Japan's modern sci-fi culture, creating a spiritual connection between the past and the future.

"My inspiration is a mixture of ancient traditions and modern sci-fi from Japanese culture," Yamamoto explains. "I hope the inspiration of the boot harmonizes the players and gives them extra confidence to express themselves without any fear. People should feel free to express themselves. Just follow your own instinct."

If you've always wanted a pair of lion-dog soccer cleats, now is your chance. But you better hurry, because only 2,000 pairs will be made.
