so- i finally found and checked the site...
there are only 7 scarves posted there and there are clearly more than that...
17 according to your info, runner...
and i see from these pics that the smoke scarf also comes oblong and i guess that version is chiffon instead of an opaque silk...?
they will drape and hang so differently depending on this variation as well as the diferent shapes...
and becuase i got a close look at the smoke scarf- i can see what i was thinking is right...
yohji yamamoto is written in the middle in blurry smoke...
this is branding that i can approve of and reminds me of when he wrote his name outside his store in chalk, erasing and erasing until he was satisfied...
*also of my chalk print afv top...
cool idea~!
i have been thinking about how different the scarves will look once they are wrapped or tied and worn...
some of the ones that may not seem so amazing at first, could turn out to be the best ones to wear...
i'm thinking about something like this one
http://forums.thefashionspot.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=678355&d=1399999312
once it is wrapped around the neck it will have one end white and one end black, which could be quite cool, imo...
depending on the rest of the look of course...
as i said, i am more and more attracted to the scarf idea...
more and more...
thanks for the further info about the concept...
i am understanding and appreciating more and more about these japanese design concepts and aesthetics...
i can see how the bag gets some inspiration from the shape of geta...
*frankly, i like it without any print and i think what you say is probably all true about why they did it that way...
i would not want it any other way either...
yeah- smoke is beautiful and definitely adds to a mood or an aura...
it works especially well as an accessory, imo...
it's like some ethereal scarf or jewelry wafting through the air...
almost like a halo...
...
even the way one holds a cigarette can be extremely elegant...
that smoking scarf looks soooo lovely when yohji shakes it out...
..
i have never imagined using a furoshiki, runner...
but i suppose it's not out of the question if it were an evening at the theater or something quiet and civilised like that...
it's an interesting idea, to be sure...
could be quite charming...
i like the idea...
i love seeing yohji at work...
it may not be easy, but i really appreciate all of his efforts~!
and yours, runner!
thanks for sharing all of this...
the wool scarf is nice too...
i wonder if the pattern on that is woven or painted on or what...
