haha!
that pic of sakamoto is very appropriate in this thread...
yohji as masked superhero, sakamoto as superhero...
i guess everyone wants to be a superhero in some way...
:zorro:

thx for the additional pics of the pants and top...
the top is so kawaii...and i really like the 'genie' pants!...
:magic:

thanks also for the pics of the windows...
the first thing i thought was that it looks like a person in an art gallery...
then i read the copy on the windows...
art meets life...
i think they achieved the desired effect beautifully...
and the designs on the clothes make so much more sense when viewed in this context...
such a beautiful display of art and design!
art meets commerce!
it's a win/win situation, imho...

so...
i bought a vintage piece of YY...
it's a knited cape with a big silver zip up the front...
will be lovely worn over a jacket...
also lovely wrapped around the neck twice and worn as a scarf...
i think i have found the piece to replace my lost cashmere wrap now~!
yattah!

I hate the woman jersey´s collar, I wish they kept it mao like men´s...
He also designed the cleats.

Oops I deleted my post. I didn't think this was the right thread for it. Here it is again

Real Madrid's new kit

I think I would prefer the footwear in black and gold, I read somewhere that was the original plan for those, instead of in colour. Too kitschy for me.

oh thanks for the info runner!
i imagine that blue is really great as well...

i can see a blue patch on the black pants, so that must be what the blue ones are made of...
v. nice!

maybe the black ones are easier to coordinate though...
i can only imagine the blue ones with something white on top...
or maybe grey would be nice...
hmmm...

yeah- both are quite good...

i see the "padding" theme has extended from the main collection...
interesting...
the jacket is a great interpretation of a classic style...imo...
do you happen to know what other colours/fabrics that was done in?

you are welcome softgrey
that fabric in those pics above, wool/tencel, is done only in that color, red.
the other fabric available is cotton 100 only in black. comes in 1 and 2.
both have not arrived yet over here.
most of the japanese YY stores had bought the black cotton version. but the red one seems to be rare. might be barneys exclusive just like the shirt and pants from regulation last spring.

thanks again runner...
too bad it wasn't done in a black or midnight blue wool gab - his classic fabric...
i'd like to see that on a man, actually...
tres sexy chic...
:brows:...

yes- barneys loves to have exclusive pieces...
probably you are right about that...

question ... i have bought these jkt and pants 2 yrs ago ... They are Y's (for men). But I don't seem to be able to track down the season they are from. So since I have you guys here, I'm like hey let's ask the specialists ...

The thing is that the pants have no label inside (but the structure of the "buttons" and everything inside is very similar to my other YY pants).
Could someone help id what season this is from and if this is real Y's (I doubt there would be fake YY... but who knows) ...
I got the ensemble for 10euros. Bargain.
oh and the badge is mine.

my photos (i just posted the jkt pictures, but the pants are similar in material and stripes) damn the pictures are upside down. sorry

MM-J23-986 is the code for the fabric and season

HB -- SS 95, SS 00, AW 06, SS12
HC -- SS 99, AW10
HE -- AW 95, SS 02, AW 08
HF -- SS 96
HG -- AW 96
HI -- AW 97
HJ -- SS 98, AW 04, SS 10
HM -- AW 02, SS 08
HN -- AW 99, AW 05
HO - SS 93, SS 11
HP - AW 93, AW 11
HQ -- SS 03
HR -- SS 06
HS -- AW92
HT -- SS 94, AW 00, SS 07
HU -- SS97, AW 03
HV -- AW 94, AW 01, SS 09
HX -- SS 01, AW 07
HY -- AW 98, SS 05
HZ -- SS 04, AW 09

i could only find this on styleforum.com
we need a list of how to translate codes...

we can see how to read the codes somewhere in the japanese avantgarde thread, if I remember rightly.

H for homme
M for Y's for men
HM and MM refer to the same season.

looks like the jacket is from F/W 2002. they had the runway paris presentation for that Y's-for-men collection. so there should still be some images of the looks online.

H for homme
M for Y's for men
HM and MM refer to the same season.

thanks for that.
i was worried because i only found the main line codes (ie Hxy). but actually you just have to change the H by M, I suppose.

thanks i found a video.
i'll check firstview. but i doubt they have them.

this is not a "strong" piece. but i love how the jacket fits on me (whatever the size i'm doing - my weight varies, so YY is AH-maziiing for that)...

i once wore it with a MargielaxH&M pants (yes i got one), and black shoes, and a grey (or blue) cashmere. a guy flirted with me all night long (as i have a bf... he was in NYC... i was in Paris... it was very flattering that somebody flirts with me...... ahahah.:ninja::meow: and a kind of straight guy - any gay knows how it feels when a "straight++/bisexual-" comes to you.
on the picture this is the one of the right. and i have muscled legs (the only muscles in my body.) so it is a bit tighter... just enough i guess.
jponfashionspeed
anyway thanks runner.
(and thanks for all your knowledge. it can be public. a karma would be small).:flower::flower:

thanks for the images and the info runner!
:fllower:

there is something new on the YY website about a new shop...

GROUND Y

ヤマモト社のブランドを複数展開する
ブランドセレクト業態のコンセプトショップ
「Ground Y(グラウンド ワイ)」。
「Ground Y」オープンでは、新ブランドの「Ground Y」、
EDWINとのコラボレーションで誕生した
ジーンズブランド「Yohji JEANS」、
「Ground Y」でしか手に入らない「by Y’s」と
「Y’s Pink Label」の限定商品、
そしてシルバーアクセサリーブランド
「GOTHIC YOHJI YAMAMOTO」を展開。

Ground Y, a brand new type of
concept store by Yohji Yamamoto Inc.
The new brand Ground Y as well as selected items of
Yohji JEANS, a collaboration with EDWIN,
exclusive items of “by Y's” and Y's Pink Label,
and the limited collection of
GOTHIC YOHJI YAMAMOTO
will be available at the store.

The concept store Ground Y
invites guests to enjoy the world of various brands under a single concept
“to wear unisex clothing.”
The brand Ground Y was created exclusively for the store.

Beginning with the architectural style in Europe of the Middle Ages,
the term “Gothic” refers to wide range of art including
decoration, sculpture, and painting.

“GOTHIC YOHJI YAMAMOTO” bears the concept: unchanging for perpetuity.
The line consists of basic items such as silver accessories and T-shirts,
which are designed adopting motifs; sharply pointed details resembling
gothic architecture, diamond shapes, lilies, snakes, and angels.

The “phantom” line born in Paris in the atelier of Yohji Yamamoto is
brought back to life as a new line with a fresh concept.
