Alexander McQueen S/S 08 Paris

Im dying to see a full pic of the outfit Natasha Poly is wearing with the black, white and red feathers on top, it looks incredible:woot:

I love Alexander McQueen; he never disappoints! I absolutely love this collection-- so innovative and beautiful. I love what he did with the feathers. My favorite piece is the dress on Raquel-- what a vision she is!! Ah! I can't wait to see the whole thing!

Unless the bird carcasses are a by-product of the meat industry, I don't like their use, though.

I'm not sure I would even touch a bird carcass by- product let alone wear it... .I just had a shiver down my spine.

We've all familiar with McQueen's signature designs and motifs but somehow, seeing them all together like this is still incredible.

Beautiful show.
I can't think of a better way to honour the life of Isabella and his admiration and respect for her.. the contrast of such soft detailing and textiles in the clothes with all the wires and deadly-cut metals in the headgear, plus the dragonflies and butterflies on it!.. it's all very poetic, elegant, endearing and so English in the best possible way. They both [tracey + mcqueen] did an outstanding job this season.. I'm not sure someone will be able to surpass the level of grandeur in the next two days.

The clothes are actually rather disappointing (plain, simple, some are definitely average) and very...all over the place (Raquel's is GORGEOUS, though). The hats on the other hand...AMAZING!

The first thing I thought of was "a Tribute of Isabella". She would have loved every last hat!

Interesting collection, I like most of it, though I'd never wear any of it:lol: The shoes are so scary:shock::rofl:

wow..this really is the most amazing show of the season.

I see that this may have been, in part, an homage to Isabella.

But the clothes look like a retrospective of his work from his label and Givenchy.

None of this is at all new, some of the pieces are barely even changed (that pink python dress is almost identical to a yellow python dress he did in 1998 and the pink/purple ombre kimono is a watered down version of one he did for Givenchy hc f/w 00)

Not to mention the things inspired by past pieces. The feathers, the rainbow feather printed chiffon, the metal cage apparatus, the masks....he's used them all with better results the first time around.

I'm honestly a little pissed by this.

can anyone explain the story of Isabella blow's influence on this collection... im hearing a lot about this woman and i tried wiki, but i just dont understand their relationship...
