i stand by that. wearing a couple of outfits twice (in the case of anna wintour) does not mean she's not operating under the same principle. seriously, it's fashion. the business of new clothes is their life.

even michelle obama barely wears an outfit more than once. we need to agree to disagree.

(and, for the record, i don't consider carine's "looks" statement pieces. black basics aren't the same thing as a rodarte dress [anna dello russo] or a chanel couture suit [anna wintour])
You really need to update your brain before you made such judgemental comments ...Carine rarely wears some sort of black basics now..

About the repeating..both Anna and Carine wear the same outfit again and again..Anna wears the same Chanel couture dress from S/S 07 and S/S 09...while Carine wears the same Pre-Fall 2009 McQueen pantsuit , Pre-Fall 2009 Balenciaga pink fur, Fall 2009 Prada wool coat, Fall 2008 Margiela trench coat....just dont make me continue this..

^again, we'll have to agree to disagree. i'll concede about carine re-wearing clothes -- although i don't really think any of the things you mention qualify as statement pieces -- but anna wintour? she goes through more prada runway looks than a model.

^^ Funny...Why those from Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana are not statement pieces ? Anything only related to Anna Dello Russo are statement ? But she wears dresses from these fashion houses as well

This is not related but I have seen Anna DR wearing the same dress twice, or even 3 times. For example a strapless emerald color Balmain dress which she wore in Milan during menswear last year and then she wore it again in NY during fashion week in september, and for a 3rd time for a photoshoot. Or a Lanvin dress which she wore during menswear and she wore it again during NYFW.
Back to topic -- Is she really about to launch her own scent? (Post 1297)

Maybe it's just me but I'll never be able to comprehend how anyone could despise her style, It's almost like art.

anna dello russo re-wears statement pieces, too. many major editors/stylists/socialites/celebrities don't wear statement over and over and over out of habit remains my point. again, we'll just have to agree to disagree on this point.

I agree with some of the stuff ive read over there. How can you have a great personal style when you wear the same exact outfit as seen on the runway? if it was styled by somebody else , it is not your personal style, is it?. However, there is something about Anna that makes her unique... and although Im not a big lover of her, Im always looking forward to her pictures, she is always surprising and she knows how to stand out, for good or bad.

About this age thing, dressing according to you age has nothing to do with your proffesion (as I read over there aswell) is about AGE! so even if you are a fashion director doesnt mean you can actually dress like a 25 years old fashion director, just like a 40 years old teacher shouldnt dress like a 20 years old teacher. It has to do with age, not what you do. But that is just my opinion.

Although Anna & Carine also wear many runway looks, its usually the more "subdued" pieces. ADR chooses the standout pieces; the shiny, bejewelled and camera-ready. With Anna favoring chanel, odlr & prada, and Carine, balenciaga, givency and balmain, there is an easily definable style or family of fashion. ADR goes through many designers and I think that leads some observers to view her as having less personal style.

This was my remark.
My point wasn't that only women in certain professions should dress a certain way past a certain age, but that there are profession where they have to, because they could lose their job if they don't conform.
Anna is not in that position, so I stand by my point that she can wear whatever she wants as long as her body keeps looking that good in the outfits she wears.

Regarding that perfume report: I sincerely hop that the hideous shoe/bottle thing was only used for illustrative purpose and isn't actually the final design!

Great outfit in #1312. Loved that black dress and the bag. She looks really good^_^.

What??Anna wearing the same dress more than once?Ah the hell is freezing now, anyway it's a stunning real high fashion dress,so I don't mind seeing her in the same thing

The Celine outfit is one of the few looks on her that I didn't liked.

Loved Anna's styling in the #1299 Moschino ads.Alessandra Ambrosio looks fab in the gold, black, red and white!

And by the way, for you people that don't understand Anna's style, don't read this thread! I'm tired of always reading posts that are not so positive about her style. Get a life and leave us "Anna" fans alone! I love her style and that's all that matters!

the thread is for discussing her style and work, "discussing" being the key word here.
people will always have diverging opinions regarding a subject and if they are expressed in a civil manner it can make for some interesting conversation, as opposed to a whole thread composed of "lovely!" and "amazing!" type posts.

I like Anna because I see her as a sort of fashion entertainer as opposed to a creative force... (she also has this larger-than-life southern Italian personality which I find adorable).
She just knows what works for her and goes with it, applying the same formula to her work as a stylist.
