Asian Eyes

I think those blue contats are crazy scary..I don't like them at all..I think it's silly trying to be something you're not..

cottonshrinks, you are so beautiful. gotta give you karma for that!! ;)

To be honest, I think asian eyes look best without eyeshadow. I prefer doing a cat eye with liquid eyeliner and putting focus on my lips.

i agree i prefer no eyeshadow a lot of the time because it can cover up the natural shape.

I like eyeshadow..I would never do my makeup without it..
Most Asian girls that I know and have seen on the street wear brown eyeshadow and I was wondering if anyone could give me some more colors that look good on Asian people.

ive been playing with my sister's Coastal Scents 88 eyeshadow palette. i always go for (medium-light)purples(medium lavendarish) & pinks(cool)...recently tried and loved lime green and lightishmedium aqua blue! i havent really been into dark shadows lately except shimmery dark but electric blue but used sparingly like in crease and just faded out the rest of the lid.

this is my Key Lime look for Asian eyes(posted in Brown Eyes Thread as well)

my camera didnt pick up the two different greens very well but it wasnt super contrasted shades, they blended well together obviously :lol: the light green was more pearly and medium green more vibrant.

thanks! loonaka

camera wh*ring is kind of fun but extremely time consuming, ugh! well hopefully i can contribute more pictures in the future if im not lazy.

i posted in Brown Eyes Thread too!

so here is my beloved MAC Teddy kohl liner that ive worn since like '05.
teddyminkhoneylust0.jpg

^ Teddy with Covergirl Mink e/s is amazing. its seriously an e/s i always go back to because its so easy to wear. my sisters are addicted to it as well. in the pan it looks exactly like MAC Honey Lust! lol this picture is from August '08 when i still brown hair & brows! if your wondering why one side is a different color : the blonde highlights were only under my hair so it peeked when i would flip it/move etc.

^ Teddy going solo! :lol: no eyeshadow to distract and taken in natural light. strawberry blonde November '08.
*** :heart: i LOVE eyes. im totally an 'eye person'. i appreciate it when i see girls with barely any eye makeup because i love to see their beautiful eye shapes and there are so many kinds! they are so expressive on their own. but you know i love makeup too so i like to keep it balanced! some days its barely any and then i can completely go to the other extreme cuz its fun***

last night(Monday!). this is what i wore to the mall/MAC counter where i did some seriously damage. this look is nothing crazy really just a swipe of lavendar e/s, its pretty enough to just be worn a lot & look dreamy.

Thanks so much for posting...I really like the 2nd looks^^
Did you dye your eyebrows BTW?

i dye my eyebrows to match my hair. im very much into the details and brows cant be over looked! i posted the evolution of my brows in The Eyebrow Thread :)

posted in the Brown Eyes Thread as well

For Halloween ‘06 my older sister helped me put on some crazy, what I call ‘fairytale’ lashes because they remind me of cartoons, super long curly and less dense. It was appropriate because that year I was Lil’ Red Riding Hood!

* MAC Romp e/s : chocolate laced with gold on top of the Mulch

*MAC Golden Lemon pigment :

i was going to buy the full size which is like $20 just for Halloween but lucky they were out and just gave me a sample which i still have and havent used up! SCORE! lemony gold obviously, topped over EVERYTHING. heavily patted on all over the browns on my lids, applied very sparingly so that it’s a super sheer gold on brow bone & on my brows to match my hair(sparkly brows are only acceptable on Halloween when you are as fierce as Lil Red Riding Hood). this is the one night I can have a disco bomb face to match the disco bomb body…

…haha I had medium ash brown hair at the time and wanted the fantasy aspect even further. So I sprayed my hair with Jerome Russell Ash Blonde temporary hairspray

(spray as you would hairspray and comb through with plastic wide tooth comb because you can wash the spray off the comb). Can you tell ive been in love with the idea of blonde hair for a while?

^ When you dye your eyebrows back to dark; do you dye them black or brown?

I'm getting lazy to fill my brows especially in the early mornings before lectures lol (even though it takes me no time) so I bought brow dye... but I bought black. I think it might too dark since I fill my brows in a dark brown colour...but my brows are extremely light to begin with.... I scared to dye them as of now.

ive never really purposely tried to go back to darker brows like if i went back to being a brunette i would just let it grow out because it gradually blends as it grows.

i have gotten them tinted with semi-permanent brown dye by my esthethician that works at my the Salon & Spa where i get my hair done because i bleached them too light. i was okay with the light blonde brows(matched my skin) topped with MAC Show-Off brow gel(ia pretty brown but too dark for my hair) at first but i feel like i had no brows when i wore no makeup so i tinted. no one should wake up feeling 'ugly' because they have no brows when they wake up in the mornings which is exactly how i felt. you can check out some of The Ida's post, she tints her brows and from the pictures of seen of her it looks very natural and pretty :)

i think you should return/exchange and get the brown shade and go easy on the time. if its not dark enough the first time you try you can always add more later on. believe me its easier to go darker then to 'back track' and try to lighten a groucho mess, which you can do with either creme bleach or box hair dye...the dye you should have hairdresser do or someone else apply while you lying down because that stuff can get a little runny depending on the brand etc for dyes you can keep on as long as the box says to keep it on your head or maybe a little less time, hair is hair but watch out if your skin is sensitive but usually like me if hair dye doesnt bother my scalp it doesnt bother my brow skin either...

*** edit :
* i suggest creme bleach if you already have the color you want but just want to lighten that, like ash tones are easier to lighten without going orange. 5 mins will lift the color with no orangeyness.

* some brown brows do go orange when you lighten but its hard to say how it will go. it really depends on the person, their dna, their brow history...lol like whether its their natural brow hair or dyed brow hair, how light they want to go etc because sometimes you may try to push the lightening process to the limit with good intentions but itll suddenly be too much and *bam!* you got Cheetos brows.

Natural “Flutterby” falsies
These are the natural looking falsies that you can wear everyday that my younger sister put on for me. It was for my DMV photo! Yes funny story time. I actually didn’t even need to renew my I.D., I just had to retake a picture so my younger sister could use it to go out(clubbin’, bars etc she’s wild child lol). None of us really look a like so I had to wear my makeup the way my sister usually does. Smokey eyes, boldly lined, and her signature what I call ‘flutterby!’ lashes.

naturalfalsies02.jpg

* Covergirl Mink e/s : medium neutral peach all over the lid as a shimmery base as an outline for darker color
- fluffy e/s brush. this is one of the few peaches I like. I havent swatched MAC Honey Lust e/s yet but I swear in the pan its an exact dupe for Mink(so you can try Mink cuz its cheaper)

* MAC Romp e/s : over most of the lid but leaving a bit of Mink on the upper part of lid as a ‘fade out’
- small e/s brush

* Revlon Skinlights loose power in Fair/Light : brow bone
- fluffy brush/fingers, don’t matter really either one works

* MAC Teddy Kohl liner : top and bottom

* Shiseido Lash Curler
* Andrea falsies & Lash Duo :

Enough though I think this brown look turned out okay im not really into it browns anymore. Also, I wanted something lighter for work since I was working lunch shift. I took off all the shadow with face moisturizer on a q-tip. Then put *shock* one of my all time faves Urban Decay Asphyxia and kept the Teddy liner + Andrea falsies *_* <- falsies face!

I seriously need your Teddy eyekohl, thanks for sharing!

no problemo stl! i love how Teddy shimmys in the sunlight

i tried my new MAC Smolder eyekohl yesterday and i dont know if i love it yet. ive been more into black liner lately but i find this one goes on a bit blue on me. swatched on my hand its still pitch black especially compared to Engraved which seems more faded greyish black. my older sister uses this and its either true black or if she smudges it its not really blueish more greyish which seems right... its the same way with my liquid liner looking blueish but it obviously looks black in pictures so thats all the matters!

thanks Mattheaus123

loonaka, i always want more makeup after watching too many Youtube tutorials.

Shotgun Smolder
pink for dinner out last night :) these pictures came out a bit warmer than usual...

^ lol im definitely *~smiling with my eyes~* in the third photo & in the last photo you can see the slight blueness of the Smolder liner! IM NOT CRAZY.

* Urban Decay Primer Potion

* Urban Decay Wallpaper palette, Shotgun : all over lid but more on middle-outer and eye socket
shotgunsmolder003a.jpg

* Coastal Scents 88, the pinks with the *'s next to them
shotgunsmolder001a.jpg

shotgunsmolder001b.jpg

^ close up. the one on the left is the pale pink shimmer on brow bone.
the one on the right is very similiar to Shotgun but more lighter/pearly on inner 1/3 of lid

* MAC Smolder eyekohl : top and bottom. its hard to use on the bottom because i hate too intense or lines as thick as the top...on the bottom of the eye because it makes eyes look like they are upside down! this pencil is different from Teddy eyekohl because the pigmentation is so much more saturated, its a big smudgy mess if you do make mistakes. some of Smolder got on my hand and wouldnt come off with regular hand soap, i had to use face cleanser.

* Shiseido Lash Curler

* Maybelline Lash Stylist in Black : always on top only because my bottom lashes are pretty long and with mascara its scary as hale

all pictures are by me
