Balmain S/S 11 Paris

More self imposed plagiarism! This is not fashion, it is repetitive people. Move on Decarnin...

So I'm going to be seeing Balmain collection like this? Oh well...I like this a lot but can he just offer something more of this?

Well, speaking of that...Pierre Balmain did evening wear, but sure as hell never ever rock chic (hate that term). And Erik Mortensen, you know, who was head designer for Balmain for 10 years (1982-1992), he never did clothing for drug addicts look-a-likes either. He was from my town BTW...

Balmain used to be pretty much about fancy evening wear. And now it looks...well, not very expensive or even glamorous.

Yeah, rock chic is what Balmain is all about now. Nothing we can do about it. Could you maybe post the rest images from the collection here, not just Snejana's ?

And people, please don't talk that this look like Kesha 's clothes. I don't like that girl .

This is as far away from class it gets, if you ask me. I doubt that Decarnin had a classy, sophisticated woman in mind when designing this.

Decarnin's aesthetic has proved successful time and time again. I'm almost certain he had his audience in mind. Emmanuelle Alt? To name one.

I like Balmain and I can usually find several pieces I like in a collection, this one included. However, they seem to be doing the same thing every season, I would have liked to have seen some change...

Oh well, it's a tried and tested formula, I'm sure plenty of people will buy it anyway.

same old trashy overpriced shtick. i can't understand how people still get excited for this / buy this stuff but to each one its own, i guess...

 I was not saying that that is ok. I was saying that if something doesn't look classy and expensive it doesn't mean that it's trashy . This is Balmain aesthetics. And I am not really a Balmain girl ...and I am not much into this kind of style, but Balmain as a brand I like this collection. I just hate when people come here and comment without knowing history of a fashion houses:lol:
While I agree that the world is not divided between class and trash, when you send models down the runway in cutoff shorts and holey stockings that's trashy, and pretty deliberate and self-aware trashiness at that.

To me, the trashiness is not the issue or a problem, but come on, someone should do an audit to determine if some of that stuff is not the same exact item that walked in previous seasons. Someone posted a picture of a Balmain runway model in an issue related thread and I snarked in my head, "well at least you could have posted a recent picture of her," little did I know how fresh (but not really) the photo was.

After saying close-ups I don't like it that much. Freja's first look where she is wearing shirt looks really uhm..not clean:lol:...but Kasia 's shirt is interesting..it looks like it has blood on shirt

Uhm:unsure:

Can't post from this crappy computer

Balmain has NEVER ever been about looking like you woke up in the gutter, which is why I'm not quite sure why you keep going on about brand history. I don't give a crap about what Decarnin is doing, it has nothing to do with Balmain. He should do his own line and try and see how long that would survive...Balmain has such a long and rich history, and I really wish they would have brought a real designer in.

This is where Pucci's Dundas wins over Decarnin , Dundas does the same **** over and over and over its that same homeless rocker hooker look.

Well at least there's one positive thing about Balmain- it's consistantly bad.:innocent:

Some pieces are cool, but overall looks really cheap.
