Kate Middleton Recycles an Old Favorite for Easter Service

Today, Kate Middleton and Prince William attended Sunday service in celebration of Easter at the St. George’s Chapel in Windsor, England. Also in attendance for the event was Queen Elizabeth II, who was celebrating her 93rd birthday, and Prince Harry. (His wife Meghan Markle, who is expecting the couple’s first child any day now, stayed at home.) Always one to dress for the occasion, the Duchess of Cambridge decided to play up the holiday’s signature pastel color palette, choosing an ensemble that riffed off Easter egg blues—and recycling an old favorite in the process.

Middleton was seen heading into the church in a baby blue overcoat by one of her favorite labels, Alexander McQueen (she has worn the piece before, for Sunday service back in 2014). Designed without a collar, and finished with sharp, accentuated shoulders, its clean silhouette felt simultaneously modern and timeless. She wore a simple frock in the same hue underneath, and matched her fascinator to it as well. Her gray-blue clutch was a stylish addition to the monochromatic look. Ditto for the simple pointed pumps in suede. Meanwhile, a single crystal brooch on her left and some diamond-encrusted jewelry, rounded out the outfit with royal-approved style.

I especially like the blue dress Catherine wore at the All England Club when she made her appearance with William at the men's finals. It's a bit more streamlined, without the lace, buttons, bows and ruffles that she often wears. Also, good shaping around the bust in that dress too.

Completely agree! I also loved William's jacket, shirt and tie. I don't usually think of him as being very stylish, but they looked fantastic together at the final.
