Congrats mammab - it's gorgeous. Did you purchase it from Neiman Marcus? The lock looks really good.

My Whiskey (from NM) has some issues on the lock - not peeling but some minor knicks and scratches. I have a new bag on order to compare locks on both bags. Looks like you got a nice one though!

Thanks for the compliment on my avatar, it is a mother and child -- it's a scan of a Hawaiian postcard that I just adore. I grew up in Hawaii and miss it and everytime I look at the postcard, it gives me a great feeling. Unfortunately, I am a 110% haole (haa haa) -- Hawaiian women are just so beautiful!!

This is funny, my little boy is sitting here trying to unlock the lock with the key....he loves moms new bag!

Hey Roey -- I did get it from NM. I just finished analyzing my lock and there isn't a single scratch/mark/etc. on it. so I guess I am pretty lucky. I'm sorry to hear about your unforunate incident with your lock but I am sure your new one will be just right *crossing fingers*

Man, but that sucker is heavy but it's really cute so I'm keeping it on the bag.

mammab - congratulations on your new bag - great pics too!! Seeing yours has firmed my resolve to get one this season. However, hearing the issues concerning the the state of some of the padlocks and hardware I'll definitely buy one in person rather than at a distance.

i've been able to resist the paddington (until now at least) because when i tried one on in chloe nyc when they first came out it seemed just too heavy (especially after being spoiled by balenciagas) but i am so tempted...

i know you and lilygirl have roxannes, how do they compare in weight?

Just a little update for my defective Bowler bag from Baharain..

I shipped it back to the shop at Last Monday but the following tracking message shown on the ups.com I am not sure what is going on..

BAHRAIN, BH 14/01/2006 14:29 THE RECEIVER DID NOT HAVE FUNDS AVAILABLE ON THE 1ST DELIVERY ATTEMPT. A 2ND DELIVERY ATTEMPT WILL BE MADE;PACKAGE WILL BE DELIVERED NEXT BUSINESS DAY-NO SATURDAY GUARANTEE

Seems to me like they dont have enough money to pay for the delivery?!

and I called Jaybe last night , she's in a hurry ( maybe serving customer) and sounds a bit annoying to me.. she said she received my bag ( which not shown on the ups tracking) and she will ship it today and hang up.

I will ask my bf to check his email for the tracking no once he wake up.. I hope jaybe did send me a tracking no.... cos I hate to call them everyday and also.. when I received my phone bill yesterday... I was shocking... it costed me like 1NZD per minutes for calling to Bahrain. ( normally call to US or HK is only 5c/ min) my bill for last month just for Bahrain is around 40- 50nzd

I just got back from Target....they now have horrible, horrible, horrible knockoffs of the paddington. I find some of Targets bags cute for the price...SOMETIMES...but these designer knockoffs they have been doing lately are abnoxious. Little tween girls walk around with them not knowing/appreciating the real thing. Maybe im just PMSing, but it bothered me seeing them on the shelf! Ew.

Btw the leather go softer with use. The leather on my tan I have from the first season is very very soft now so as the dark brown. Enjoy your new baby glad to hear that you are happy with it.

cherie, whats a tracking number? NO she didnt send me an email for my tracking no...ahhh what phone bill?!?!? i got nothing related to a phone bill or tracking #....and that would be stiipid if bahrain didnt have enough money to send our bags here. yeah i got in so much trouble callling and nagging bahrain =P my dad told me not to call them anymore i still do tho

Well the creme and blanc, i would prefer the creme one more due to its thicker leather. but ioverall, i m just worried about the padlock mainly. oh well ill see soon.

IS there a tracking order or smeothng? i dont get all this shippingFEdex thingy. ahaha
So does that mean...they havent sent our bags..? its sunday already for them like 4am.. oh well we'll wait together!

i think the whole funds available thing could just mean they missed the package. i doubt their boutique wouldn't have the few dollars needed to pay for return fee.. the same notice appears on my tracking whenever i miss a package as well bc my concierge doesn't pay COD packages due to security..
