Christian Dior F/W 2019.20 Paris

It's just dead.

Even when I think it can't get worse, she manages to exceed my expectations in being more bland and boring. I actually like the saddle belt but then she put it on every single look and it was no longer special. It's disappointing to think about the ateliers, tailors, fabrics and everything she has access to, and this is what she comes up with?

Her tenure will be forgotten soon.

I would looooove Marc at Dior. Unfortunately Elbaz isn't cut out for a huge machine like Dior.

Must admit that I was pleasantly surprised over the lack of navy blue and nude while watching the live stream earlier, and didn't think this was Maria Grazia Chiuri's worst collection for Christian Dior - but certainly not an improvement from past seasons either.

More of the same old silhouette, and relaying on gimmicks and slogan t-shirts to keep people interested. Another forgettable display... sooner she's out the door the better!

I will admit this was the first time I actually appreciated Maria's obsession with sheer......those floral embroideries are stunning.....so thank God she ACTUALLY used the talents of her staff on that.

It would actually be a decent collection from her if this wasn't Dior. This is brand that needs a designer who understands and respects it. Thank you, next.

This is so bad! There are literally just a couple of real looks from this entire collection, and everything else is just repeating with slightly different colors and prints. She only has a couple of silhouettes in her mind and then repeats them season after season. It’s just so sad to see this kind of stuff going on at one of the most important couture houses in the whole world. If what we could expect from even Dior are craps like these, I guess we must accept that high fashion is officially dead now.

Does MGC actually have any original ideas of her own? Or do you think all her collections will be her being 'inspired' by others and subsequently lifting and placing the ideas onto clothes and calling it a day?

This is just sad.

I makes me sad because somehow I was rooting for her to be better every season. It is not fun to trashing a collection from the same brand every single season. Yet, it makes me sad that she doesn't have anything new to offer. Her work has one note and she finds a new theme to put these same designs on a new spin.

And really? Another female empowerment marketing ploy that everyone already knows what's up? Seriously, LVMH and people at Dior should be ashamed of themselves. They have run this brand into the gound. There is no saving grace about this collection. Every single gimmick is as predictable as her next corseted tull dress.

I couldn't even bother to open every look as I usually do with collections each season, I just skimmed through it. Probably never will.

I just saw dries, and then I went to this..... Shame on Dior for allowing this nonsense. What an insult to this institute of fashion. Even raf in his most drab look book collection was endlessly more exciting.

I clicked open this thread completely forgetting I looked through it yesterday.
Says a lot about the whole collection. I do like a few of the skirts but they alone don't make a collection.

"It’s safe to assume that most in the Dior audience see Chiuri’s runway feminism exactly for what is: an attempt to look topical and also sell a T-shirt for around $750."

Ms. Cathy with the T always.

i just read the Dior press release, funny the inspiration and cultural references accounts for most of the content where the clothes only just causally mentioned for a few sentences, even the brand knows collection has nothing to offer.
