Christian Dior HC F/W 04.05 Paris

Never mind, I found out that it means high quality....I thought it was some kind of website where you can get big pics :P

After 'researching' Galliano's past collections for both Dior and Galliano I have come to the conclusion that his next shows for Dior are gonna be very wearable and relevant. Why? Because there is some sort of a pattern to his work. Let me explain: couple of years ago Galliano came with this couture collection
100055625.jpg
which was very very unwearable. After that collection he came with this
100071276.jpg
a very very wearable and succesfull collection too, cause it raised couture sellings by 41%...and for Galliano he came with this:

Well received by the audience perhaps, but I don't know about the average woman that buys his stuff and so after that he 'was asked to do his daywear', in other words: 'damn it John, make something wearable this time!' Thus this was the next collection:

So what I am saying is that almost everytime he had pushed himself TOO much, he came with a wonderfull, wearable collection. So my guess is that this

will be followed up by something much, much more wearable. I am probably wrong, but I liked typing this :P And another guess is that it will be a Grease theme, but that's just because I dreamed about it last night :P

No offense to nuiko, but the shoes are just gross.

it takes all kinds :flower:

and personally, i do not feel as if i am a victim of the galliano hype that you speak of.

i like what i like, and buy what i like. the dictates of fashion really have little relevance to me. it's all about personal preference as far as i'm concerned.

I absolutely love this collection.. Just face it everyone.. each to their own opinion but there is always ganna be a mixture of people who love and hate Gallianos work.. its the truth

each to their own, no 'but's' and please do respect all views posted :P

Yes thats what i said.. each to their own opinion.. and i do respect all the other views posted.. but dont go saying diors sh*t all the time and making fans upset.. it would be NICER to say it in a constructive critised way.. for example i really really hate prada.. but i would say.. I dont like prada because of the 'oldness' that the label brings in.. just stuff like that.. theres a way to support ur view that can come across positively or negatively even if u have something bad to say comes across in a positive way..

i believe we are quite civil&chic here at tFS

everyone respects other's opinions in the right of voicing it,
i really dont think we have an issue here.

Civil and Chic......I like it Lena!!!!

I'm just surprised we're still talking about the collection. As Prince said, Galliano's tricks worked, yet again.

I'm intrigued by the point Mr.Dale made, it's very true, there is a pattern. I guess John does have some concept of not taking things past a breaking point. This collection is the extreme, extreme fantasy, extreme workmanship, extreme presentation, but come spring P-A-P season, Galliano could turn out something more along the lines of his Marlene Detriech collection in terms of the wearablity.......

Civil and chic?!?!?!?! I can remember quite CLEARLY wen i posted the issue of a versace dress and 99% of people had the worst thing to say about it.. voicing there upper most in a positive way, unfortuantely doesnt happen on TFS.. Fashion is a bitchy industry.. and it always will be.

Altho i love the idea of having a civil and chic TFS. By the way.. im not here to cause conflict..

Good point Mr-Dale! I remember hearing him say somewhere that he said over the years, he would scale back and create something close to wearable. (completely paraphrased  ) But again I say, since these are not the pieces that end up in the store, it's not a worry. It's just his presentation, his choice. I agree that everyone has their own opinion, but it's like everyone wants him to change. If he wants to create unwearable looks, he can do that. He still has his job so he must be doing something right, no?

Lets hope so. Id like to see something more elegant from Dior finally.

Lol, I find it funny that people agree with me :P

And also I think that people sometimes are oblivious to the fact that they might be 'hurting' people by saying their opinions the way they do here, but I also assume that it's all 'non-taken' 'cause people have their own opinions and know that other people have other opinions. So no-one's hurt :flower:

But I do have to say that I really don't like it that some people in this topic say that everyone who likes this collection is taken over by the so-called Galliano hype. Please stop that, 'cause I know I'm in no hype and I don't think many are in here...

please, dont take it personaly guys,
there will be points our opinions will agree,
there will be points our views will just dissagree.

It is certainly non-personal,
its clearly a matter of personal style,
nobody holds any 'universal truths' ; )

Just to inform you guys, the edited version of the runway video is online now at www.dior.com and boy did they use some scissors in cutting that stuff together....they've shortened it up quite a bit :flower:

Oh and another thing....I was in the library today and I was browsing through this fashion encyclopedia that dates back to 1991 or something and in it I found 2 pics of this 1988 couture collection by Chanel and when combined they looked totally the same as this dress:
00060f.jpg
But offcourse without the fishtail....

I dont find it funny to agree with you, though. It would be funny if you told non-sense.

I`m sorry if I hurted you that much by agreeing with you, but there was nothing personal in it.

I dont say that thing to anyone in this forum, espesually to you! You may like this collection and say wonderfull words about it, but that wont hurt me anyway. I dont care really that much about it to start hurting somebody bacause of it.

I understand that you didnt mean in your post that you dislike the collection, and may be it was my fault to quote your sentence like that, but believe me, I respect your opinion here and have nothing against it. Its just a matter of taste here, isnt it? Somebody likes skirts, other prefers trousers.

:flower: Stay friends?

i think the whole collection is a little too...predictable? cheesy couture i guess.
